I feel bad that I had to rate a 1 star review for a product that has worked well for me for years. But not so for this sticky back. I bought it to hold the grilles onto speakers in my home. That was over 6 months ago. The directions stated that the adhesive would cure in 24 hours. Actually, I just looked at the package, and it reads; "Easy to use, For smooth surfaces, Adhesive reaches maximum strength after 24 hours". Both surfaces that I used it on were wood. It never dried, setup, or cured. The velcro slipped out of place, leaving behind a sticky mess(see below).
After a very messy cleanup that required solvents to remove the stuff, I did it over but used regular velcro and contact cement. That worked great. What prompted me to do this review was that I found the box today, which I put the removed tape in, and the adhesive is still sticky. I think I'll call the company tomorrow. If they offer me a lifetime supply of sticky back velcro, I think I'll tell them "no thanks".
