I love the Vintaj product line. They have such a variety of beautiful metal components -natural brass, copper, pewter, and black art deco.
This 1" clock face is from their natural brass line and it has a vintage look to it with its raised relief roman numerals and rich caramel brown color. Unlike Vintaj's filigree brass pieces, this particular piece is more rigid and can't be easily twisted and manipulated around other pieces. You can, however, use a dapping block to very gradually work it into a slightly convex or concave shape. The Vintaj product line also carries a dapping block, but it's made of wood which I don't find as effective as the heavier metal ones.
There are less expensive options for metal clock faces with a vintage look. These Tim Holtz Metal Timepieces sell for less and include 5 various size clock faces (1.25," 1.50," and 1.75").
The natural metal surface on all of the Vintaj pieces can be enhanced by using metal patinas and then buffing the raised (relief) areas with the metal relief block for added luster.
For wonderful inspiration for fun and creative jewelry, it's worth a visit to their website to see their gorgeous photos of finished pieces...each using many various pieces of the Vintaj line. Amazon doesn't allow other websites to be posted, but it's easy to find by googling "Vintaj." There are also a number of YouTube videos on different techniques.
