I have a 30 year-old one piece ski suit that lost all of its water repellency (I got sopping wet skiing in a warm snowstorm at Park City). This bottle (I used it all for the full suit) seemed to have restored some level of protection.
I sprayed it outside as other reviewers talked about the smell. It does smell, but it did not seem strong to me. I used a rag to spread the liquid around and to get into all the crevices at the seams, etc. I let it dry outside and then used a water spray bottle to "test". The water beaded up. I suspect that it is not waterproof, but this suit never was since it was before Gore-Tex and other new fabrics, but it should be fine in wet snow storms, although maybe not rain.
