Well, I was very excited to play with the Digitizer Jr. I was disappointed that I was required to use a second application (4D manager) to convert my images to use them on my Pfaff Creative 2124. It was advertised that this product would convert virtually any file type, but that is not so. It has an extremely limited file type of about 5 different types. It's only the full blown product that allows the broad range of file types that you might actually need to use. This is how they hook you into a major investment, I guess. Since I'm getting ready to purchase a new Janome machine, I really wanted to put the money into the machine and not into additional digitizing software. Since then I have found BuzzEdit and BuzzWord. They are actually more functional for about a quarter of the price. I wish I had found them earlier. The Digitizer Jr also only has a few fonts. They are not very nice ones, either. So I am waiting right now for the delivery of my BuzzEdit, also sold on Amazon. For $189 it has 30 scalable fonts and the ability to add in custom fonts and map them to your keyboard. Very cool stuff. It also integrates with the BuzzWord for an additional 40 fonts for $129. You can purchase each piece for a small amount and build up to the full blown digitizer, which is still around $300. I just wish I had read this stuff somewhere so I wouldn't have blown nearly $500. I'm not saying that the Jr doesn't work, I'm just saying that for all the trouble of having to use a dongle and for the price, I expected more. It did work right out of the box without issues on Windows 8, but so did the trial versions of the Buzz line of software. I hope you Janome software engineers actually read these reviews and improve your product to be more in line with the price.
