I purchased this serger from Walmart about a week ago. The low price is what lured me in, and I have not been terribly disappointed yet, considering what I paid for it. Sergers are fairly complex and take a lot more patience to operate than sewing machines. You can expect to put at least an hour or two into setting this machine up, and should plan on running a few scraps of fabric through it initially to adjust the tension dials, which can be a bit finicky and over-sensitive. The machine comes with a DVD that is INFINITELY more helpful than the manual, and with a lot of patience and several failed attempts, I was able to thread it correctly and produce a stitch. My only complaint is that the stitching can be inconsistent at times, no matter how much I fiddle with the tension dials, but I cannot say I expected a flawless machine at such a low price. This is a nice machine for those on a budget or who use their sergers lightly. I only use mine for finishing the edges of light-weight fabrics, and it suits my purposes quite well. A more expensive machine would probably function more consistently, true, but I'm thankful there's a serger out there that meets my more stringent budget!

Bought this because the original Play-Doh set was sold out. I really don't like the rolling pin because you need to use the palm of your hand instead of the handles. The tube and attachments are too big, and the dough goes around the shapes instead of through it. The orange circles can only be used with your thumbs, making it a little messy and not very long pieces of spaghetti or other shapes. The scissors smoosh the dough instead of cutting, which just causes chaos with my son because it's "not right!". If you have the choice between this and the original Play-Doh set, go for the good one! I will continue to use this because it's all we have, but am going to hold out for the original and keep this as a back-up!

I absolutely love my Ultimate Sweater (Knitting) Machine. In fact, I enjoyed knitting with it so much, I went out and got a professional knitting machine and disappointed with that because the Ultimate Sweater Machine works so much better and easier.
Before being able to take full advantage of this machine, I needed to accessorize. Yes, more money but worth every penny. I needed the extensions to make it longer and the row counter (couldn't live without that) and the yarn winder and the table (you need a table with a square edge so the clamps have something to hold) and some large hair clamps to hold the knitting off the floor (it can`t touch the floor and the clamps work better than the knitting needles they recommend -just roll and clamp) and some additional weights (to weigh down the knitting so that the knitting stays on the machine and knits evenly). Go to the Ultimate Sweater Machine website to find all necessary materials.
The beauty of this machine is that it takes the standard yarn we find in the craft stores like Michaels. Fluffier yarns can get caught and make the experience frustrating, so I recommend standard 4-ply yarn to start.
It takes practice, make sure not to let the yarn pull or snag as you are knitting. I usually leave the ball behind the table and unwind enough so there is absolutely no pulling on my knit work. There is a learning curve. Don't give up!
Fancy stitches take a lot longer to complete, because we have to do it manually. People see the knitting machine and think it's easy and quick. Maybe it's quicker than traditional knitting, but it can take me a week or longer to complete a sweater, especially if I have a bunch of fancy stitches to put in.
Great machine. I'm glad I found it. Just keep in mind this kit will get you started, but you are going to want the accessories to get the most out of it.

Our office already has a great guillotine cutter that can cut through phone books, but it can't handle cutting individual sheets. We needed a good rotary trimmer that was big enough to cut large sheets of poster board, but very precise. So far, this has been an excellent purchase and meets our needs perfectly!
Brother XL3500I 35-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple
I am happy to finally have a new machine after 13 years. The light weight of the machine and the handle to pick it up is a real plus, since I lug it up and down stairs whenever I use it. I don't think I will need all 35 stitches but they seem simple enough to change. I've used the stretch stitch which works well. My one big complaint is the instructions for the one step button hole. The instructions are incomplete, telling you how to start, but not telling you to release the button hole lever when you want to come back. It took me a very long time to figure that out and to get the settings right to feed the fabric I was using. The button hole lever which is pulled down from the underside of the machine does not come down or go up easily and it bends with the required pressure when it is used. Threading the machine is very easy and I like the bobbin window. I love the plastic cover which also has a pocket for the instruction manual.

I have had my 6 inch heart pan for many years, and I love it. You may have to experiment with recipes to make sure the one you want to use doesn't spill over the edges. Any recipe with up to 1 cup flour will probably work great; I use 1 yolk when I split a recipe with an egg. My cakes look great and not like some dinky little thing. It is perfect for small families or those who want to celebrate but eat small slices or not have leftovers. If you have to, you can eke out 8 pieces. It wasn't really what I wanted. I needed the letter size that was sealed on the 9" side as that is the width of my laminator. Because it was on the 11 inch side it caused problems with feeding into the laminator and with sealing. i also did not realize that it was quick seal.
