The 1222SE has a magnet to hold the bobbins so that you can fill the bobbin. Because these are plastic bobbins, they will not load b/c there is nothing that will hold them in place. I tried several different ways and still didn't get loaded bobbins. I re-ordered metal bobbins...THEY are great.

3-IN-ONE Multi-Purpose Oil with Telescoping Spout, 4 oz.
I had one of these. The oil is fine, but after a few months, the bottle leaked and the oil ended up everywhere. I never damaged the bottle so it must be made with the wrong plastic or something.

Janome Sewing Machine Cover for 3050 8077 2010 and more
I bought two of these for my Janome 8077 sewing machines. They are great hard shell covers. They are not what I consider a carrying case as the item does not have a base. It fits over the top of the machine and allows you access to the handle. For my purposes, it works great. If you want a case that secures the machine completely inside, this is not the item for you.

Juki Pearl Line MO-655 2/3/4/5 Thread Serger
I am in love wtih this serger. This is my third serger and it is handling everything I throw at it. The rolled hem is flawless. I especially like the fact that you can raise the presser foot with a little extra push on the lever, just like a regular sewing machine. The needles can be challenging to thread, but the included cheapy needle threader helps a lot. The instruction manual is pretty clear. Great price for top notch machine.

I just purchased a Brother SE-400 computarized sewing and embroidery machine from Ken's Sewing and Vacuum Center via Amazon.com. It arrived within three days. So far, I am VERY pleased with this machine.
Loving embroidery, I decided to purchase the Brother SE-400, as it had all the features I wanted and it was within my price range. Prior to my purchase, I read all the web reviews I could find on the SE-350, as there are barely any reviews yet for the SE-400 (new on the market). Noteworthy is the fact that the SE-350 and the SE-400 are the exact same machines except for the additional computer connectivity that the SE-400 possesses. The SE-400 has a port for computer connectivity and comes with a USB cable which helps connect directly the sewing machine to your computer. This is an advantage over the SE-350 as this feature allows you to upload embroidery designs directly from the web(or your computer) to your machine, and update your machine's operational software from Brother whenever updates occur.
The SE-400 is compact enough, comes with a handle at the top, which makes it truly portable. Even though it is relatively lightweight (compared to my good 40-year old "all metal" Kenmore), the SE-400 feels sturdy while sewing and it is a very easy machine to operate. The manuals that came with the machine are very well written and the diagrams easy to follow. It took me only a few minutes to figure out how this machine operates. I love the self threading feature of the machine, as well as the built-in thread cutter, bobbin sensors, and drop in lower bobbin.
I was also delighted to find out that the embroidery part of the machine has the following built in features: You can reflect an embroidery design; and rotate the design 1 degree, 10 degrees, or 90 degrees at a time.
I appreciated all the enclosed accessories that came with my SE-400. I wished though that it came with an additional large embroidery hoop too, besides the medium hoop. I guess I will have to buy a large hoop sooner or later, if I am to become more involved with machine embroidery.
The SE-400 is a good choice for a home sewer. I give it a 5-star.
One more note. If you are looking for a hard carrying case for this machine, I highly recommend the Brother 5300 universal hard carrying case. It is the perfect fit for it.
Paladin Tools 1931 Datacomm and Telecom Scissors
I use d-snips / electrician's scissors a fair bit, and I've used a few different brands. I like the Paladin ones well enough (and I think the Greenlee are identical), but I don't find them as well-balanced as the ones from Klein. They also seem to loosen up a bit too much / quickly for me, and I have to re-tighten them too often. If you need d-snips, these will be just fine. Personally though, I'd buy the Kleins -I like them quite a bit better.

I've used cold-shrink tape professionally and lately needed some for waterproofing my amateur radio antenna installation. This product is as good as the stuff we used to get from TESSCO.
Singer Zigzag Chainstitch Sewing Machine
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. I should have known not to buy this machine. It's poorly made and flimsy. Everytime you try to sew with it, the thread breaks and the stitches come undone. I bought a similiar one about 12 years ago for another daughter and this one is just as bad as that one was. Time has not changed anything, very disappointing!
3 Hoops for the Brother SE 350 SE350 Embroidery Machine
I just purchased this set of three hoops for my Brother SE-400.
This set of hoops works for the SE-350, the SE-400 and the SE-270D Brother embroidery/sewing machines.
To my surprise, all three hoops were grey and not black as illustrated in the picture (the picture does not do justice to the product, as the shapes of the hoops are not exactly as illustrated in the picture). The hoops not only matched exactly the color of my 4"x4" embroidery hoop that originally came with my Brother SE-400 sewing machine, but also matched it in quality. These hoops are well built and sturdy, and each one comes with a transparent grid template, similar to that of my original 4"x4" Brother hoop. The larger hoop is built and looks exactly like the Brother SA434 hoop.
To sum it all, I give this set of hoops a 5-star rating as it is a great buy, both quality wise and price wise.

This EnviroTex does what it is supposed to do. It does create a beautiful finish on many items, and I do intend to use it more in the future. My problem has to do with the directions. I was updating my old countertops and putting this over top of them to really give them a nice wow factor. In the directions it says to pour the mixed contents over the item and smooth it out with a foam brush or putty knife. I did this...twice. Each time it was not smooth at all, and I am a pretty handy person. I started researching how to make it look better. I spent a couple nights online writing down similar ways to apply it from other products that are like it. A good number of these other products said to use a small roller and apply it that way across the counters. This did involve me sanding the EnviroTex that I already laid down twice off my counters. It was not a simple process, much to the credit of this company, because this stuff is very thick. It took me a whole night to sand everything off of them and then clean the kitchen. I only had a small portion of EnviroTex left in my two bottles, and chose to do the island in my kitchen to make sure this would work better. It worked great with the roller!!! Very pleased with it. The bad news is now I have to purchase more of it to finish off the kitchen when if they had just said in the directions to use a roller in the first place, things would have gone much smoother. I never leave reviews on items I buy off of Amazon, and I buy things from here frequently, but I felt I better for this product. If I can save just one person on here the hassle of what I had to go through, then I will feel better about everything. So please, EnviroTex, your directions sheet should be changed to include using a roller to apply your product. Like I said, I will use this on other projects in the future, but I will definitely be using a roller!

I bought these to see how usable they are. I want to design some buttons, but button presses are hundreds of dollars. I didn't notice the size (2.5 inches), so they are much bigger than I was expecting, though it's not a problem for the purpose I had in mind. The large size is better for craft projects.
Here's the instructions of how to use the buttons:
"1) Simply press down on button top while rotating button, until the top and bottom separate.
2) Cut out photo/insert and place between the front and back button pieces.
3) Press edges of button top and bottom together firmly until they snap into place"
That's it. They are easy to open but they close tight enough to keep from falling apart while being worn. The plastic surfaces are very scratched up. The pin is good quality and DOES have a point, but it's be hard to accidentally get hurt from it (basically, adult supervision is needed for smaller children). For a craft project or something like free school "campaign" buttons, they're great. Because of the overall appearance, they wouldn't be good for something where the presentation needs to be professional quality.
Alumilite Quick-Set Mold Rubber Kit mold-making kit
This is Alumilite's basic silicone rubber product for casting molds. It's intended to be used for casting with Alumilite's resins, see the standard resin for example Alumilite Super Plastic Casting Resin 28 oz..
This silicone rubber has a low tear strength, meaning that it's fairly stiff and creates pretty strong and firm molds. It's great for two part molds that need to be stiff for the two parts to line up against each other precisely. For making two piece molds, you will need a mold release agent Universal Mold Release by Aluminite Corp so that your two parts don't stick together. Make sure the first part of your mold is properly cured before applying the mold release and creating the second part. The rigidity does not make this silicone particularly good for complex molds with undercuts and deep parts, etc. that will be difficult to demold and you could end up damaging your mold. For those types of castings, use Alumilite High Strength 3 RTV Mold Making Rubber 1 lb. HSIII RTV which is very flexible, stretchy and does not tear easily.
The product has two parts, the base and a catalyst that are mixed in a 10:1 ratio by weight. The product comes with mixing containers that will help you mix the two parts. However, it's much better to get a scale, particularly one that measures in tenths of a gram or tenths of an ounce. This will be particularly important when making small molds for detailed parts when only a little of the catalyst is needed. We use American Weigh BLADE-600BL Blade 600G X 0.1G Digital Pocket Jewelry Scale Blue, which is both inexpensive, small and pretty accurate.
Once the two parts are combined, mix until no swirls of other colors are seen. Vacuum chamber will help remove the bubbles but it's not necessary. We've found that pouring in small increments helps eliminate bubbles. That is, we pour up to a 1/4 of an inch of the mixture into the mold and then wait for any air bubbles to surface and lightly blow on them to pop them. Once this layer of silicone is bubble free, we pour in another 1/4 inch or so and repeat the process until we're done. The silicone mixture has up to 30 minutes of open time for mixing and pouring so you have some time.
The mixture will make a perfect imprint of whatever piece you're making a mold of. It is great and will pickup even the smallest details and scratches, prints, lettering, etc. We created a mold of an N-scale shipping container and all the signs, labels, etc. showed up on the pieces we later cast into the mold. It's pretty impressive pickup of details.
For making a box for your mold, we've used Lego pieces, cardboard, or scraps of foam board. We typically put our mold box on a piece of styrene to get a clean flat surface and either use Alumilite's putty or hot glue gun to keep it all in place. Also, the manufacturer has a number of how-to videos on their website.
In summary, this is a great product that allows you to create your own molds for small and medium size things and then cast numerous replicas.

I bought this table as an aftermarket item for my Janome DC2160. Sometimes these tables are included with your machine, but my machine did not include it. It makes a big difference in sewing, however.
1. The flat surface of this table is slightly convex. This lets your piece of fabric glide over the top into the feed easily and with no bunching.
2. You can see any pins coming along and remove them as you hold the fabric flat on the table. Sewing over pins is not a great idea (you CAN, but really, it's better not to.)
3. The light color makes it easier to see as it reflects more light on your sewing.
4. The table has legs that fold under for storage; when you don't want the table (say, you're sewing on the free arm) you can stow it easily on a shelf or in a cupboard.
5. There is an embossed ruler (metric and English) that is a handy guide for measuring.
If you sew larger items, flat items, or quilt, this is a very good addition to your machine.
