I bought this machine for my 9 yr old granddaughter to use. I already own a Janome 6500, and wanted her to have something that was simple to use. This machine definitely fits the bill. She was excited to use it. It has a limited number of stitches, which is all she needs. I like that it is a sturdy machine and not a toy. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to introduce sewing to the younger generation. I did purchase a 1/4" foot from my local Janome dealer, as the machine didn't come with one.
