SINGER QUICKFIX MEND MACHINE
I just bought this machine today but I wanted to go ahead and review since I've just gotten about 6 months of built-up sewing done since my former machine died. I started with my husband's dress shirt which it zipped right through easily then I decided to try a thicker material and hemmed a pair of Lycra/spandex yoga pants, all went awesomely! So the big test was next, I added a satin binding to the edge of a medium to thick comforter! It WORKED! I was so pleased, my thinking here was trying the machine on this thickness immediately so if it broke or had any big problems I would know now and could return it. But I'm thrilled, I had to guide the comforter through a little because of the thickness but it sewed like a champ, absolutely the little sewing machine that could! I'm pretty knowledgeable around basic to mid-level machines and didn't even need to read the manual when I turned on the machine for the first time. It came pre-threaded and ready to go, just plug it in and you're on your way! It runs fast enough but probably not as fast as a full size machine but that wasn't a problem for me, I finished binding an entire comforter in just a few minutes. Oh one thing to note, it takes the smaller sized spools of thread so the standard sizes you may have in your collection won't fit. The machine does come threaded with a butter yellow and also comes with light blue and orange spools and matching pre-threaded metal bobbins plus the yellow one already loaded in the machine and an extra empty bobbin. I'm very happy so far!
