The "storage rack" is a bit of a joke as it is made from flimsy packing plastic but luckily, I had not planned to use it for storing them (I chose to store them in a plastic Rubbermaid type container). However, the scissors themselves are very sturdy and sharp. We have used them for all sorts of crafts including cutting fabric, plastic lids, paper, yarn and construction paper without any problems. They are small enough for little hands to handle but large enough that older kids (and adults) can use them without a problem.
