These are the best stamens that I have found. I like them better than those produced for Wilton products. The colors are true and bright. They are easy to use and manipulate. They add a realistic and finishing touch to my fabric and lace flowers. The price is great. The seller does a good job with packaging and shipping.

The Vintaj line carries a variety of beautiful metal components. The copper, pewter, and black art deco pieces are all pretty, but my favorite is their original natural brass pieces. It has a vintage look to it with its rich caramel brown color. These filigree brass pieces are flexible enough to wrap around other jewelry findings, small photos, beads, crystals, and sea glass. You can even bend it to form a decorative "cage" for encasing a bead or crystal. NOTE: You do have to take care when bending these pieces. As with any metal, once a sharp crease is made, it's vulnerable to breaking at that particular place. Just take the time to make slow, curving bends with it.

The color can be enhanced by using metal patina and then buffing the raised (relief) areas with the metal relief block for added luster.

For anyone unfamiliar with the Vintaj product line, it's worth a visit to their website to gain some inspiration from their gorgeous photos of finished jewelry...each using many various pieces of the Vintaj line. Amazon doesn't allow other websites to be posted, but it's easy to find by googling "Vintaj." There are also a number of YouTube videos on different techniques.

This machine has a lot of features, stitches and feet for a reasonable price. The general feeling among people I know who sew is that the Brothers are not as durable or trouble-free as other makes (and I can say, my Brother had problems out of the box--missing parts) but for the money, this is quite the machine. If you have a beginner sewist at home, this machine could really encourage creativity. Or if you yourself sew small projects and kids' clothes, there is a lot here to like.

Stitches: there are 160 different stitches, including many embroidery, quilting and so-called "heirloom" stitches. These can be used to create the effect of handsewn clothes or dress up simple patterns by putting these small ornamental stitches along seams and across plain parts of clothes. For machine quilters, the feather stitch or other decorative stitches can be used over seams or to applique along edges. Your student sewist could even use the stitches to personalize ready-made clothes or vintage clothes. If you are on a budget, you could shop at thrift stores, find some great clothes with good "bones" (a nice blouse, some jeans, a jacket) and then use the embroidery to add a monogram, designs or other embellishments. If you own a "Bedazzler" or are handy with beads and sequins and fabric paint, you can really have some fun with thrift clothes and fabric remnants. If you go on Youtube or other sites, there are many sewists who take vintage clothes and create amazing designs. (One person made a dress a day out of thrift shop finds and created a wardrobe of fashionable dresses. If your budget is smaller than your fashion yearnings, this really could be a way to stretch the clothes dollars.)

For quilters, there is a DROP FEED: this is where you drop the feed dogs and move the fabric freely under the needle. Many inexpensive machines only accomplish this by covering the feed dogs; a drop feed is really what quilters want. Also, you can adjust sewing speed by moving a lever on the front of the machine. In addition, it has the ability to run without the foot pedal; buttons are on the front to control start-stop and reverse. This is very handy when coordinating your foot and hand motions is challenging. But you can attach the foot control if you want to. I find for certain projects, the foot control good, for other projects, I want to use my hands to control the machine speed and start-stop.

There are six different buttonholes, which is unusual in a machine at this price point. You can do measured buttonholes with a foot that holds your button to adjust the size of the opening to fit perfectly. Most attractive of all, the ability to do simple monogramming with a single font. You can't adjust the font, nor add decorative letters but again, the simple ability to add a child's name or initials to a garment or bag is very handy. If you are "crafty", you will find that you can make cute handbags from the many patterns that are available in quilt stores, and then monogram it for a very welcome gift.

The stitches are available to view in a flip-down panel on the front. A good-sized LCD screen shows the stitch and length chosen in front. This is an ELECTRONIC machine, meaning the stitches are set via an onboard computer. That makes for quick changes of stitch and length, but if the onboard computer goes, the machine is not usable.

As to feet, there are the basics: Zigzag foot, Overcasting foot, Monogramming foot, Zipper foot, Zigzag foot, Blind stitch foot, Buttonhole foot, Button fitting foot, and Quilting foot. These are probably all you need, unless you want to add a walking foot to be able to sew on layers that shift (the walking foot moves with the fabric and prevents bunching.) An extended table is included for sewing larger pieces of fabric or quilting.

I usually find the Brother bobbin is not as clog-free as the Janome, but it's acceptable. If you take good care of the machine, change your needles frequently (machine needles get barbed and blunted on fabric and should be changed to stay sharp), if you keep it clear of thread nests and dust, and do not push it through huge wads of material, you will have a very functional machine. For the casual sewist who wants to make children's clothes, small quilts and crafts, this is quite the machine. If you are a production home sewist or are going to do heavy materials and want to expand embroidery to motifs and adjustable designs, this is probably not for you.

I am incredibly happy with this thread. I tried using some of my standard black embroidery thread for my bobbin to make FSL but it just kept nesting or breaking so I thought I would try this.. and it's amazing. It was a bit difficult to thread the bobbins though as none of my 3 machines have a pin big enough, but I used a base from a pack of CDs and it worked beautifully. :)

This product is advertised as being a heavy duty paper cutter. It isn't heavy duty, the feet and legs are plastic, the Green Board is actually partical board, the blade on the handle flexes, and the rotating shaft that the blade is attached to is incased in plastic for the bearing surface. This is not a HEAVY DUTY unit.

I am very pleased that Amazon refunded the price of the item and the shipping charges without question. They even provided free return shipping.

this product is so bad it doesn't deserve even one star... the plastic parts are not made well so it doesn't go together well....it sits crooked and looks bad...i have one from an earlier time and it's not as bad....i realise that platic is not going to be as good as a metal one but it should at least go together well and not look like a "drunken salior"...it does give one pause as to ordering anything from Dritz...thinking they may be trying to keep a low price and have inferior manufacting.....i bought one from the local quilt shop and i couldn't even get the screw out of the base to put the rod in the base....so i'm thinking that Dritz needs to re-think their source...

i've never used eyelets before, and while i can't say they came out in a straight line i can at least say they are sturdy and won't come apart.

i use them in flat weave paracord dog collars and the 1/4" size was a perfect size.

when i used them i squeezed them together with my fingers, then inserted the included tool and smashed them with a hammer.

i don't think one should use a heavy hammer because it flattened out the "right" side.

ah well. live and learn i guess.

overall, a great product if you need sturdy eyelets.

I really like the fact that this is reusable. I've gotten fair results, but be very careful about causing bubbles because it's very hard to get rid of them, it's really viscous. The bubbles don't just float to the surface and pop, but kind of stay put and cling. I've heard that using this in a vacuum chamber is very bad news and will foam up and spill over. It has a very low melting point so they don't recommend using any molding material that generates heat because it will deform the mold. I've used resin in it a few times and it hasn't been a problem yet, but you can also pop it in the freezer for a while. I can get rid of bubbles if I bake it in the oven for a few hours, but then it dries out. I've added water to thin it, but it seems to be losing its integrity. I do like it and will continue to use it, but it could be improved.

Most adorable earrings I've ever had. I love em. They make me feel fancy. I feel in love with them when I saw a pair similar at the mall but they wanted 17 bucks for once that aren't even as big as these ones. So I was very pleased at the size which are alil bigger then expected which in my case was a good thing and not 17 dollars! lol

I bought this art set as a gift and I was thrilled at the variety of mediums along with the affordable price. I should have known you get what you pay for. When I received this I was bummed because it looks so cheap. The items inside look like things you can get at the 99 cent store and the box they are in is flimsy and plastic. It is still a good variety but make sure you are not buying for someone remotely serious about art.

I've owned this item for over 20 years and bought one for each of my three daughters from Amazon. My Zipper Ease stick is probably about half the size of the new ones. But an application to a stubborn zipper immediately fixes the problem. Every household should have one.

Singer Quantum XL-5000 Sewing and Embroidery Machine FS

I had high hopes for this machine. When I bought this machine (four years ago) I thought it would be fantastic to own one machine that would do both sewing and embroidery, and it's made by Singer! One of the reasons I THOUGHT this would be a great machine at the time is because it's updatable. Although it may be updatable, they have never created anything new for the machine and you would be just as well to buy the less expensive model that isn't updatable. Singer promised new and exiting changes and I'm sitting here with a machine that hasn't changed since I bought it and still only does what it did when they first designed the machine. They haven't even added stitch fills which my very basic Brother Embroidery machine had.

The two units (sewing machine and embroidery unit) are large and bulky and the sewing machine is very heavy. Also the machine is supposed to be able to do multiple hoopings for larger designs. I've never had a multi-hooped item turn out like I had envisioned. It could be operator error, but I have done everything they suggested.

There is a huge learning curve with both units, but Singer's Customer Support is great if/when you call needing assistance and can get through to a human.

There are some really neat built in stitches, but when I use the built in embroidery stitches (done without the embroidery unit) the designs wonder and are hard to keep on track. I draw guidelines with an air erase pen, but the foot travels everywhere while creating the design, so it's difficult to figure out where the design is going.

On the plus side, I do like the automatic thread changer for when you are doing embroidery, but the automatic bobbin rewind in the embroidery mode sucks. When you get near the end of the bobbin, the machine wants to wind a new bobbin, but in order for it to do that, it has to go out to the right hand side of your project and stitch off the remaining bobbin thread. NOT something you want to happen while stitching out on an expensive silk or any other project for that matter. Also even though the automatic thread changer is supposed to allow you to walk away while your design stitches out, you still need to hang close because it only changes to the next color.

Also, you need throttle the machine way down in order to get it to embroider properly and even then, you will sometimes have problems (birds nests on the bottom, tearing holes in your fabric).

They sold this unit as having an "automatic thread tensioner". I wouldn't call it that at all. You need to put in a sample piece of fabric and stitch out their tension "star". You have to manually adjust the thread tensions until you get the star to stitch out properly. (It's probably easier to do it the old fashioned way, stitch a straight stitch and check for loops.) Most of the time I have to stitch out their star about five or six "samples" before I get the tension right. And After I have the tension correct (according to their star) I sometimes still have problems with the thread tensions not being correct.

Something else I thought would be pretty neat, is they show their machine as being able to create a stitch that looks hand quilting. Nothing in their manuals or instruction books show how to create this effect. I was told you need to use clear bobbin thread, and mess with the tension, but it isn't an automatic stitch like they lead you to believe. I'm sure if you mess with the tension on any machine, you can eventually get it to the point it will make a "hand quilted" look stitch.

In conclusion, I've pieced together multiple quilts with my machine and created quite a few embroidered projects but I feel Singer really dropped the ball with these units. Knowing what I know now, I would not buy this machine.

I normally wouldn' t even write a review but the contents of this product seems to be tiny, compare to what you have to pay. No other pictures to give the customer an idea what was inside except for description. The shape of beads are a bit different then the norm.with some having flaws.
