I have been using these Q-snap products for years for lap quilting. They are easy to place, move, or finish the work as you go along. I really like them and recommend them for anyone who doesn't have the space for a large quilting frame.

It is a roll of vinyl! Look at it, all being smug sitting there looking like vinyl. The pic is different than what you will receive. There is no cardboard inner sleeve. It is just a roll of vinyl, rolled up like a paper poster would be. It can be tricky to get it out of the box. My recommendation is to cut one side of the package open, swing it like a baseball bat, until the middle starts to come out, then use your fingers to rotate the roll clockwise to tighten the roll. As you do this the roll will get smaller and slide out easily.

I recently ordered this magnifier for my mother and her coin collecting hobby. Sadly, when it showed up, it was not quite what we expected. First up, the unit we received was defective. The light would not turn on...and even smoked a tiny bit when we first powered it up.
Second, it was very cheaply made. There were scuffs and scratches around the housing, the batteries would not fit into their compartment properly, and the light was a regular small bulb (not LED, like many magnifiers).
In short, this is a very cheaply made unit.

I have found this machine to be both compact and well made. Mostly metal, there are a few plastic bits, but I don't think these would cause future problems. It's FASTsuper fast. It zips through heavy weight fabrics with ease. I am pleased with the simple, but useful array of stitches (my other machines offer more stitches, but I rarely use them). This machine is stable and does not bounce (I have returned other machines that bounce when used).
I think the light could be vastly improved -it is way too dim. I prefer the LCD light on my other machines.
All and all, I would buy this machine again and recommend to other crafters.
UPDATE: I have now been using this machine for several weeks. I'm very impressed-the speed is fabulous-note, this may be too fast for people new to sewing. Good thing Singer added a finger guard (which gets in the way a bit, but I'm sure I would have otherwise sewn through my fingers by now). Most recently, I have enjoyed how effortlessly it zipps through thick fabrics amazing!
