Material is slightly lighter in color than depicted. Good to work with as I did the project myself. The material seems like it will hold up to lake conditions for years. I would purchase again.
Singer Even Feed / Walking Foot #006185008-P

After reading scads of books on quilting and machine quilting, I broke down and bought a walking foot for my very inexpensive Singer Simple machine. This food is not made by Singer, but is high quality none the less. It made machine quilting so much easier than I ever thought possible. The material, including the batting, cruised under the foot like a dream. I have left it on the machine for small sewing projects as well and have found it makes thicker material easier to sew. I highly recommend this item for every machine!

Singer Walking / Even Feed Foot

This is the first walking foot I've used, but it fits my simple Singer machine well and does a great job pulling the fabric through evenly on the top and bottom. The feed dogs work great, and it is simple to attach. The one I got in the mail looked a little different to me than the picture, but it fits and works well.

I looked for this product at all the hardware stores around town (Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, Target, etc) before I found this online at Amazon. It provides a good wind and dust seal for my sliding windows and it's super-easy to install. It's literally: a) measure; b) cut to size; c) remove backing tape and d) stick to surface. To get the best adhesion, I thoroughly clean the surface of the window and then alcohol the area to be sure all finger oils and dust is gone before I apply the weather-stripping. I think it sticks longer this way. Overall, good product. Would buy again in the future.

Uniquely You Your Shape Pinnable Dressform - Petite
Posted by
Unknown
on Sunday, May 24, 2015
Buying this dressform from SewVacDirect was the right choice. You can adapt the form to your measurements by altering the cover. I recommend getting the closest size as possible since the foam will only squeeze to a certain point. I fall between the petite and small size. I went for the petite size with cover #3 (largest size cover within the petite). It is easier to add padding to the form and then reduce the size of the cover, than it is to try to squeeze a small cover on a bigger dressform. If you've never sewn before you might find it challenging to follow the instructions for the cover alterations. If you know how to sew it should be a piece of cake. Please make sure before checking out to specify your cover size... I was careless and had to call/email SewVacDirect to let them know my cover size. For the price, being able to drape, pin, and construct a garment to my exact measurements cannot be beat! ... one last thing, I am glad Amazon does not have Allbrands.com from Louisiana as a vendor. They were a nightmare! They will rip you off! Im glad my credit card backed me up when they did not filled my order and tried to charge me for the shipping, (they have several complaints with the BBB)...so avoid allbrands.com like the plague.

None of the generic spool caps would fit my Janome serger, so these are especially nice to have. I really needed them, and I think I'll probably buy a couple for spares.

This is a great machine that's done everything I need, and does it well. I've owned it for a while now, I sew on it several hours a week, usually in one big sewing block. It quilts just fine, hems jeans (with the help of a jean-a-ma-jig) there are many feet available for it very inexpensively, both Janome and generic feet. If you're new to sewing and want a simple, reliable machine that won't give you a headache, I definitely recommend this machine. It is a vertical bobbin, and while the trend right now is horizontal bobbins, there are some advantages to the vertical bobbin. For instance, it's really easy to clear thread jams, and you can clear them without removing your project from the machine, you can change bobbins without moving your project, and many people prefer vertical bobbin when doing free motion quilting. Another great thing about this machine, if you take up sewing and decide you can't continue, you won't feel bad about giving this machine to someone else because a) it's a good solid machine and b) it wasn't expensive. If you decide to keep sewing and want to upgrade to something fancy later, you still don't have to feel guilty because a) you can still take it to classes easily (15 lbs so easy to transport) b) it wasn't expensive and c) it's always good to have a reliable back-up machine in case your fancy one breaks down or your friend needs to borrow it, or you want to teach kids in your neighborhood to sew, but don't want to teach them on your expensive machine. So in the end, it's a simple basic machine that works very well, and because it's simple, it will last a long time as per the 25 year warranty.

When I was much younger I used to wonder where the library got the thick, clear tape they put on the edges of 'perfect bound' softcover books. I thought it would be ideal to use on my record album 'jackets' to keep them from deteriorating into illegibility on their spines.
I finally made the all-important 'connection' when I spied a library intern applying this tape to some books behind the checkout desk. She told me that this tape doesn't dry out, yellow and crack like all other kinds of clear tapes and that it's especially designed for the "long-run"(it is 'archival' and neutral Ph). That was over thirty years ago and I've been using 3M's 845 'Book Tape' THAT long on my record album jackets with TOTAL success!
I have hundreds of LP record album jackets that I've used the 2 inch wide tape on and they're still clear and perfectly readable after all these years! Some of my albums that I used other 'clear' tapes have utterly failed the test of time, the various other types and brands disintegrating into crumbling bits of brittle opaque flakes over the years. But not ANY that I used this 3M tape on!!!
So, if you want THE 'perfect' clear tape to protect your record jacket edges and keep them readable for decades, use THIS tape! There are other widths available, but the two inch wide seems to be the best for the record album jackets. Most highly recommended!
And, yes, I also use it to protect and preserve the edges of most of my 'perfect-bound' paperback books too!

I would recommend the 3dRose LLC art work to everyone. This print is so realistic , that when I hung the print on my design wall,
my Parsons Russell Terrier thought they were real, and she started barking and backed away. I am glad I made the purchase
and will make others as needed.

You can have weak (magnetically) and durable magnets or strong and brittle magnets. These are the latter of the two. To get an idea of how strong these magnets are, I was doing a little test with them. I put one of these small magnets (only half inch in diameter) on the table and held another one vertically above it. I kept lowering the magnet until it was about 3" above the one on the table when it jumped of the table and smashed into the upper one. After doing this twice, both magnets split in half from the stress. To compensate for their brittleness, you can coat the magnets in 2 part epoxy resin without losing much magnetism. Overall great magnets!

ArtSkills Tape Runner, 2-Pack

I am SO HAPPY that this product exists. I purchased Artskills quick letters which have a light tacky adhesive at the top of them but I needed a way to really stick the letters to my poster. I came across this product also from Artskills and it is PERFECT for adhering your letters to your poster WITHOUT the letters wrinkling. Sometimes if you use other glues they can be too wet and cause the paper letters to wrinkle but not with the tape runner. I usually buy two of these packs if I'm making a poster with a lot of wording. This product is awesome!!!

First, this is PUTTY. So if you have air bubbles..you're doing it wrong. Basically this is two part Silly Putty. You sit and knead it with your fingers until there are no streaks of white left. It is not "poured" it is a solid product. It is basically for anything you want an impression of, it's IMO not good if you want to do something like a ring, but I admit I'm more into pourable silicone which is a totally different product. For a flatter ring it might work and I'll be experimenting with it. If, on the other hand, you want to make things like plaster moldings for dollhouses, or even to pour low melt metals in, it's perfect. Also great for those of you who do polymer clay work. If you want to "cast" something more 3 dimensional on the other hand, get pourable silicone rubber.
Keep this stuff in mind for things like pendants, or moldings, and it is food grade, so fondant. I do metal casting and this works for that as well although you do kill the life of the mold faster. You can also use it for smaller guest sized soaps, although, I really suggest pouring silicone rubber for big bars of soap.
There's no smell, the odd greasy sensation may throw some off however, but it's totally normal for silicone putty. Use gloves if it's that big of a deal.
Good sized for what you will probably use it for. They do have bigger sizes if you need to do several molds. It does help if you use a container (for one mold I used the top of a soda bottle for a really small charm mold) so that your mold looks a little neater if you care about that sort of thing.
Set up is quick, but not so fast you don't have time to get a good impression. Make sure you really knead the two parts together, I also suggest a cheap scale so you have equal parts although really, I've mixed too much purple to not enough white and been fine. Once you take the impression and set the mold aside, it's about 20 minutes before it is cured. I do suggest for metal pouring you let it cure 24 hours.
Once cured, know that the flexibility is low. There is some "give" but it's minimal, which is why for me, it wasn't good for a bubble ring done in resin, I will continue to use pourable silicone rubber for that type of mold. However, for something flatter, like a pendant, it's flexible enough to pop out your material.
All in all, decent price (cheapest I've found out there in fact) and a good product as long as you know what you're doing with it and not trying to force it to do something it's not made for, like 3D casting.

I liked using the product: 1) it glues so that stones sit tight, 2) it has a very precise point, which makes it easy to apply and control quantity of glue 3) it indeed tends to flow out gradually if not capped, but this is true for any glue in aluminum tubes, 4) when dry it is colourless.
