Material is slightly lighter in color than depicted. Good to work with as I did the project myself. The material seems like it will hold up to lake conditions for years. I would purchase again.

Adjustable Blind Hem Foot 820817015 - Janome
Easy to use after researching you tube videos.
I was hoping to use it to hem up some good quality slacks. I have the correct thread however I can't get the amount of stitching to show through close enough to what I was hoping. I was hoping to not see the thread at all but I couldn't get the thread showing to be invisible or even close to invisible. I ended up sewing by hand to be sure the thread was not visible. This would work well on material that is less finely woven. I am looking forward to using it in the future.

These things are proving to be difficult to find. Of course, I have a couple already, and they work great. The issue is with a merchant who lists them here.
Said merchant (appears to be the main merchant for them in the Amazon Marketplace) took my order, but sat on it for approx. 10 days w/o any indication they intended to fulfill the order. Both ship date and estimated delivery date came and went without any action by the merchant.
So, I cancelled the Amazon Marketplace order (they processed the cancellation promptly, much more responsive than the actual order), and ordered directly from another vendor. We will see if they arrive.

My 15 year old son asked for these pens to do artwork on his surfboard. They worked fine and he has done some really cool art on his board. He did say that they really smell and it is imperative that you use the pens in a well ventilated room. He wants to by some water based pens but I am concerned that they won't be as stable as these pens. He also commented that he needed a broader point for his large artwork pieces.
Singer Class 66 Plastic Bobbin (10 Pack)
You'd think I ate these things because they vanish into thin air. I machine quilt and use a lot of bobbins. Finding the right size is a hit or miss situation and I think part of the problem is the age of my Singer. I have a newer machine that is also a Singer, but uses a different clear bobbin which is readily available at Walmart. This bobbin is used in a really old metal machine that I got when I was 12. Now it is classified as a semi-antique. I have been able to get replacements through Joanne's, but on occasion they have been special ordered and I am ordering some today through Amazon.
When I received my 'classic' machine I liked the clear bobbin. I still do. The bobbins, though plastic, are sturdy. I've misplaced them, run out of empty ones, but have never dealt with breakage or fatigue. The thing that makes them cool is you can see when you are running low on feeder thread. The old machine has a metal feeder plate, but it can be retracted so you can determine if there is a malfunction such as a snag or if the problem is an empty bobbin.
If you are having a problem locating add'l bobbins, ordering from Amazon is a good alternative.

I make keychain items like plushies and other charms and was looking for something sturdy to turn these items into keychains and this works perfectly. Nice light size and good quality. I like that it comes with the bottom small loops in a separate bag that you attach later, so you don't have to pry it open, put the charm on, and then push it closed again.. you can just hook it to a charm and then hook it to the chain, close, and you're good to go! Will definitely order these again when I run out! ^_^
Reliable 2000U-33 Barracuda Portable Zig-Zag Walking-Foot Sewing
I was a little worried about buying this machine. The Sailrite machine gets such great reviews, and everywhere I looked at the Relaible machine online this same single review kept showing up bashing it. I couldn't afford $900 for the Sailrite. When I saw the Reliable machine was available at the Defender Industries annual spring sale I went and looked at it. A liveaboard cruising sailor I met at Defender that day owned a Sailrite and had been using it for years. We went over the Reliable machine together and it looked good. He felt it was built the same inside and out as his machine, (including the foot control). At $450 this machine was literally half the price of the Sailrite, and I bought it.
This machine does not come with a carrying/storage case. the Sailrite does, and the case is a bit over $100 to buy separately.
This machine comes with a very basic manual. I think the Sailrite comes with several reference manuals which look like they could be very helpful.
I emailed customer service at Reliable (its in Canada) before buying this machine and got a courteous reply to my question within an hour (I had asked the motor size it wasn't listed anywhere I could find it online it is 1.5 amps). A thorough online search leaves no doubt the customer service on Sailrite is top notch.
I had no trouble sewing multiple layers of heavy fabric with the Reliable 2000U Barracuda machine. It went through 8 layers of Topgun plus a layer of webbing without a hitch. Using the Sailrite anchor riding sail kit and the Barracuda sewing machine, making an anchor riding sail was a breeze! The clutch did not slip at all.
My wife's regular sewing machine is an old Singer Featherweight. It is both beautiful to look at and a pleasure to work with. The fit and finish on the Barracuda is not up to that of the old Singer. The Reliable is not art, but so far it looks to be a solid heavy duty sewing machine well suited for sewing Sunbrella, Sailcloth and canvas.
After a week and a half owning the machine and a single large project (riding sail) and several smaller projects (tool roll, storage bag for auto jumper cables) I am happy with this purchase so far. I would recommend this machine to a friend.

Master Model G22 Gravity Feed Airbrushing System
The airbrush worked well enough the first few times I used it. Even though I cleaned it thoroughly after every use, it became clogged during the fifth or sixth session. I disassembled the unit and cleaned all the parts individually, but I was unable to unclog it. Thinking that the needle was to blame, I purchased a replacement needle from the manufacturer. But even after I installed the new needle, the airbrush still would not aerosolize any fluid (paint or water) from the color cup.
Add to this the fact that the airbrush is extremely difficult to reassemble, because it contains some incredibly small parts (the lever guide and trigger) that must be maneuvered into position inside the unit a maddening task.
I regret buying this product and certainly would not recommend it.

Westcott is a big name in scissors, and I've had good luck in the past with this brand, so I thought I'd be safe in ordering this inexpensive item. I absolutely did not like this product. I did give it two stars for the benefit of a doubt... But I had absolutely no luck. I mixed per the instructions (which weren't very good), and it set before I got it mixed (and I was using a jiffy mixer even). I've used alginate powders in the past and never had a problem before. This was just terrible.

The Premier W24 paper cutter is a very solid, well constructed product. Due to its solid wood construction it's not light by any means, but it's very stable when cutting several pieces of paper or matboard. The width marking on the ruler are accurate and the blade cuts cleanly. My only construction related concern is that the safety clamp, which keeps the blade in the down and locked position, is too flimsy. The slightest touch will release the spring loaded blade back into the up and ready to cut position.
The other problem had to do with the initial production quality of the cutter. Two screws from the metal cutting guide were stripped. I was able to find 2 longer screws and tighten the metal cutting guide myself, but the product would have been unusable as purchased.

The product was the right size and quality for what I needed. I would purchase again (though I will probably not need to since this is enough rolls to last until I have to buy a new CC machine!)
I was disappointed that they just came loose in a big box and that the outside of all the rolls had that inky/dirty look to them. I've seen that with other brands I've purchased from other places as well, so perhaps it is part of the manufacturing process, but it is still annoying.

I bought this machine from a JoAnn store after having a horrible experience with a cheaper Singer model ("ProFinish" 14CG754). I already have a Brother 1034D, which I absolutely love, as well as a compact/cheap Kenmore model, but I wanted a machine that could do more (cover stitch, etc.). I've been using this machine almost daily for a month, and my observations are:
Threading takes time but isn't difficult (especially with the tweezers and proper lighting).
It hasn't broken any needles, skipped stitches, caught the fabric or otherwise misbehaved.
The automatic tension settings seem to work well and you can manually adjust if needed.
It is much more quiet than cheaper machines, and feels very sturdy/solid during operation.
The PDF files on the included CD are numerous and not very easy to comprehend, but the included paper manual is well illustrated and thorough.
The included set of tools and accessories is very thorough, also has just about every type of presser foot you could need for any project.
Thus far the only thing that disappointed me is that it has no free-arm capability -which would make things like cuffs, hats and such easier; but that's not a huge problem. Also you must use serger needles, you can't use regular sewing machine needles (like the Brother 1034D).
If I run into problems or defects I will update this review, but so far I am pleased with this machine.
