These are the best stamens that I have found. I like them better than those produced for Wilton products. The colors are true and bright. They are easy to use and manipulate. They add a realistic and finishing touch to my fabric and lace flowers. The price is great. The seller does a good job with packaging and shipping.

I ordered this sewing machine after having to return the Singer Sewing Machine that I ordered a few days before. I wrote a long review on why the Singer machine was returned, so I won't bother with that here.

I already have one Janome Machine, a Magnolia. It's a great machine and I haven't had any problems with it but I sew everyday and I wanted a machine with more features. Specifically a faster machine, an automatic thread cutter and a knee lift. This machine has delivered all those items and more. I love this machine. I have had no problems with it and have sewen three quilts and several other projects since I received it. I love that it came with and extension table (they cost around $100 to buy separately). It also comes with alot of different feet and a nice case to organize everything in.

I love the automatic thread cutter and the knee lift, they save me tons of time. This machine is very fast and not too loud. The bobbin winder works very well and you can wind bobbins while sewing as there is a separate motor. I was able to unpack and set it up quickly. It is very easy to use, I flipped through the instruction booklet to make sure I threaded it correctly and I was able to sew with it right away. This machine is kinda heavy, so If you want a machine you can cart around with you then take that into consideration, also this is not a free arm machine, I don't sew clothing so that doesn't bother me but it might bother someone who does sew clothing. I would highly recommend this machine!!

These are not Large spools, they are not the ones pictured. But there are many, many colors and at about .35 each still worth the price. Still, I hate buying something that turns out to not be what I thought it was so I wanted to let everyone know that the type of spools you get are small round cardboard ones not the large ones from the picture and hold about half of the thread that the ones in the picture would hold.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. I should have known not to buy this machine. It's poorly made and flimsy. Everytime you try to sew with it, the thread breaks and the stitches come undone. I bought a similiar one about 12 years ago for another daughter and this one is just as bad as that one was. Time has not changed anything, very disappointing!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Printable fabric sheets have been around for years, but improvements are being made every year. (There are STILL some really bad ones out there ...) Given the brand name recognition (Avery) and having had less than great results from similar products (I name only one below), I HAD to check out Avery Personal Creations Printable Fabric.

First Impressions:

1) The Product Itself: It is the stiffest fabric paper I have ever used. Instantly, I realized this could be both a huge plus and a big negative; this product is best suited for certain crafts (totes, framed pieces, scrapbooking, anything else where rigid is a good thing) and not for others (wearables, quilts, pillows)

2) The Image: For me, the single most important quality about printable fabric is the image reproduction. (Everything else I can work around, like fraying or thinness.) Granted, results can vary hugely, depending on your printer and the specific printer settings. When I used the "automatic" option for paper type and used the "best" quality option for printing, the end result using this Avery Printable Fabric was hands-down the very best I have ever seen.

Good Things To Know About This Product:

1) It is for Inkjet printers ONLY

2) There is no backing to peel off from the fabric sheet

3) It is Sew-in or Iron-on (unlike interfacings, this can be either/or); "Iron On" means ironing activates the glue, and NOT that this is an image transfer product that uses an iron to put the image on another surface

4) It's available (currently) in only one color a pleasing white (some other brands offer off-white)

5) This is not an image transfer product

6) When Avery claims "washable", their instructions really state "for best results, hand wash"

7) As with similar products, you need to let the printed image dry for at least 24 hours; even then, some image smearing can occur from simple handling

Personal Tips from Prior Experience With Printable Fabrics:

1) Read/follow all manufacturer's instructions; check website for more info/FAQs or reviews from other customers

2) Place only one sheet at a time in your printer

3) If not using the glue aspect, ie, you are sewing it in, keep in mind future ironing of the finished item the glue may adhere to parts of the project you never intended not good!!

4) If using color, try to use new/fresh color ink cartridge

5) ALWAYS do a test using plain printer paper first, to check for correct image placement, to test paper feed, and to test printer settings; know which is the image-side of the product (usually the matte side)

6) If applicable, keep seam allowances in mind

7) If using as an iron-on, make sure to PRESS and not really iron; both the fabric and thus the image itself can distort if you do too much side-to-side ironing. Just press the image with an up and down motion

8) Plan ahead for multiple projects; fit as many images as possible onto one sheet to make the best cost advantage

The Ultimate Test:

Unfortunately, the full test of this product will require months of time * and usage to determine:

1) how the image is retained and whether the fabric yellows over time. (I had to throw out several projects where I used Milliken's Printable Treasures because the images yellowed horribly.)

2) how the finished product withstands several washings and ironings (read my notes about HAND washing and ironing above!)

* Update 10/1/2012: I am still thrilled with the color quality on my simple little project. (I will post a photo soon.) The colors are still rich and deep, just like the very first day of printing. Of course, my project is not washable that will be my next experiment, and I will post an update as to how that goes.

The Downside:

At the time of this writing, Avery has not answered user questions on their website that are over 6 months old. I mention this not as an indication of the product quality, per se, but in case you need more information. You might do better going elsewhere, such as guilds, discussion groups, online user reviews, etc. for answers to any questions.

The Bottom Line:

For some crafts where rigidity can be an asset, and for near-perfect image reproduction, these Avery Printable Fabric cotton sheets are ideal.

When I took these out of the box, the first thing that struck me was how surprisingly-thin they are. At the time of this review, the product description says these use plastic that is 2 mil thick. I don't have a reliable/accurate way to measure one bag, but I decided that I should be able to stack up about 100 bags or so, measure them with a ruler, and do some simple math to determine the thickness of each bag. It wouldn't be exact, but it would be close.

A stack of 100 of these bags is roughly 5.5 mm thick. Google tells me that 5.5 mm is 216 mil. 216 divided by 100 is 2.16. Obviously, each bag has two layers of plastic, so I divide by 2 and that tells me that each layer of plastic is about 1 mil. I was right; the plastic used in these bags is half as thick as advertised. As part of this order, I also ordered these: 500 CLEAR Reclosable Zipper Bag. 2'' x 3'' 2 mil thick and they are as thick as I was expecting.

Also, the product description describes these as being 3 inches by 4 inches. They're not. They're 3 inches wide, but they're not 4 inches tall. The distance from the bottom of the bag to the zipper is 3.5 inches. If you measure all the way to the top (past the zipper), it's about 3.9 inches. However you want to measure it, it's not 4 inches. My expectation was that distance between the bottom of the bag and the bag's zipper would be 4 inches (I wanted the usable, internal area to be 3" x 4").

I gave these 2 stars instead of 1 because the zipper is decent and I don't think the bags will come apart at the seams. Basically, if these had been advertised as being 1 mil thick and 3" x 3.5", I would have given them 5 stars. If you don't care about the measurements very much and don't care that these are super-thin, I'd say go for it. If you do care about these things, I'd suggest for you to steer clear.

I have nothing good to say about this product.

It weeded like crap, it bonded like crap, the color once pressed looked like crap.

I have been printing and operating silkscreen, offset, and transfer press equipment for the last six years of my life professionally on both large and small scale applications, and this is by far the WORST vinyl I have used.

I bought it under a time crunch and a shortage at my normal supply house, but this ended up costing me more money in the end.

i have half a dozen of these used to store and access glass, pearl and crystal beads for jewelry making. i love the size and shape though i wish they offered a version with three deep compartments instead of one deep and two shallow. however, once full, they have to be lifted off the shelf carefully from the bottom because the snaps on the sides aren't adequate to remain closed once the compartments are full. if you lift from the top using the handle, the snaps give way and the contents fly all

over the place. the flap that locks over the protrusion above is very flimsy and has broken off with very little use.

Expression vs. Slice

There is no comparison if you can only get 1 machine get the expression it's worth the extra money...why?

I have the Slice that was my first machine (I got it 2 weeks ago) only because it had the designs I wanted (tags) and also had some cool accessories and it's my first die cut machine. You have to hold it down to use it, there aren't that many cartridges and if you wait for sales they are both about the same $. If you need a machine to cut a couple of things here and there and go for the slice. (Read my Slice review for more details).

Expression vs. Personal

The personal cricut only cuts to 5.5" and it's pretty much like the Slice around the same price point as well. It does NOT compare with the capabilities of the Expression. Expression cuts in larger sizes, more feature the LCD screen is more detailed, it's a far more sophisticated machine (think of composition notebook vs. laptop) also spoke with a cricut user at a store she said that the Personal wastes a lot of paper

Expression vs. Sizzix I didn't even really look at the Sizzix, I get they're cheaper, and they have a lot of cartridges and they're cheaper...there's a reason why the machine and cartridges are cheaper they're VERY BASIC (it's like comparing 3rd grade education to graduate school), reviews on the Sizzix weren't very "WOW" and if I'm going to invest $$ I rather get something WOW the functionality and capabilities of Cricut products (even the personal) is far superior than the Sizzix

Expression Features that makes this machine SUPERIOR:

Cuts 1/4" 23.5 inches (most machines cut from 1/2" and at 1/2" increments this is 1/8" increments and about 7" max)

Cartridges very intricate shapes when you find them on sale it's WORTH IT! Plus they have the licensed shapes (Spongebob, Dora, Hello Kitty, Disney...)

Each cartridge seems to hold ALOT of options and information. There are so many varieties

Layering options available (exp trees it will cut the "bark" then i set another option to cut the individual leaves a little bit of spray adhesive and tweezers, BAM I have a fully functional colored tree)

Design is clean, tight and slim, it's very light and portable (not that I intend on schlepping it, but if I had to, I will)

you can leave it program and walk away

What I wish came with the machine:

For the $$ There should have been extra blades + 12" x 24" mat (it can cut up to that, so why no mat?) + spatula!

It seems really silly to nickel & dime customers for equipment they need to make the machine useful I have a spatula from my Slice tool kit (slice doesn't include that either)

What I've done/thoughts so far (I've only had it for 2 days):

AWESOME I can program what I want it to cut and walk away! with the Slice, I have to hold the machine in place.

SPEEDY!! It might be worthwhile to buy an extra mat anyways to load your next set of media while you're removing it off the first mat. (This would be important if you're into efficiency)

MUST read directions of the machine first! Then load the cartridge and read those directions! YOU HAVE TO SET ASIDE A SOLID HOUR OF FOCUS TO USE THIS MACHINE! There are so many functions/features you don't want to miss anything.

Had I read the directions first i'd figure out how to load the paper. It's aligned on the bottom left corner (DUR)

You can use ANY size paper as long as it's 3" x 3" just set the paper size and it'll know and plan for you to minimize waste

Cardstock set blade at 3 pressure at medium speed (doesn't really matter)

Paper set blade at 1 pressure low speed (doesn't really matter)

Foam (set blade at 6 pressure max speed SLOW) I feel like I need the deep cut blade (another accessory) the cuts aren't very clean but it works (I'm using the "Printing 101" Cartridge making alpha puzzle pieces to teach my kiddo letters)

Speed the slower the better it seems like but for thinner media it doesn't matter

Make sure to have enough table space you'll need space behind the machine for the feeder

Projects in the future:

Definitely making cards!

More foam shapes (Spongebob cartridge) and letters

Cardstock animals to teach my kiddo (same with food / etc). (Animal Kingdom Cartridge)

I want to try to use other medium fabric, adhesive, magnetic sheets, stamp, embossing

I want to get the design software to make my own "cuts"

Helping my kiddos with their school project making adhesives to stick on walls

Getting sticky textured cardstock to make our own "stickers"

FINAL THOUGHTS:

If you get Expression Buy spatula (unless you already have one)

If you plan on doing projects larger than 12" buy the 12" x 24" mat

Buy an extra set of mats anyways it'll help keep your machine cutting while you're working =)

Get a set of replacement blades if you intend on using this machine ASAP and ALOT (I've cut 9 foam sheets 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and 2 cardstock sheets) and I feel like my blade is getting iffy or it just might be foam

DO NOT:

...Buy the Cricut bags (except maybe the duffel) most do not fit the expression duffel will only fit expression if you expand it and it's not really "protective" and doesn't hold much of anything, but if you're set on getting a bag that's the only one that will work

...do this if you need silence the machine is LOUD think of your microwave running or the exhaust fan

...PAY FULL PRICE FOR CARTRIDGES I got a ton for 60% off really reasonable if you're willing to wait

I'm going to be making friends with local people who use Cricut and maybe do a cartridge exchange (borrow) b/c not many of the cartridges are repeat use for me and the ones that are I've bought I wonder if this is an item that the public libraries have...

...PAY FULL PRICE PERIOD! Most of the national chain stores WILL NOT take their coupons on the machine, but if you are patient, the machines will go on sale or scope out online venues. Most national chain stores will let you use their % off coupons on the accessories

EDIT 10/2013:

I gave away my E1 and got an E2 I sadly like most reviewers regret doing so before using an E2. Well the E2 is terrible and had glitch after glitch. I miss my E1. I have over 30 cartridges so I'm tempted to get another E1 but probably won't. I'll just use that money to invest in more cuts with the Silhouette. DO NOT GET AN EXPRESSION 2 or you might end up sad like me. However, My E1 went to a school so I don't feel as badly. They love it and are having a good time making things for their students.

I've used a Silhouette for over a year and I actually love that machine more. It's a higher price point but the ease of use helps pays for itself. Silhouette's Design program is so much easier to use than CCR and offers a lot of flexibility. I think Cricut might have lost a customer (at least for their machines). They make the best mats hands down. I use their mats in my Silhouette.

The roll is about 9 inches in diameter with a 3" core that converts to a 1" core with the included end caps. The end caps allow the roll to be used in most paper dispensers foe ease of dispensing.

I love the slouch style bags. This one was the perfect length, opening of the purse sat right at my hip. I've bought others that are just way to long. Only issue was I wish the product I received was the same color pattern as the picture. The dark green and plum patch work looks like bleach touched the fabric. Also would have loved to get the teal color, my bag has solid black really doesn't match the tones of the bag.

I remember had this game when I was a kid! I remember loving it and honestly would even like to play it now as an adult. Each player has a different colored fish. A die with each color is rolled and the fish whose color is rolled gets to move ahead. While the fish are racing each other a motorized shark is slowly advancing and as it reaches a fish the fish gets chomped and sucked into the shark's belly. I recommend giving the fish a big head start if you want the game to last longer. You can have very short rounds though. The last fish to be eaten wins! Here's a video so you can see the game in action!

It holds all my empty and prewound bobbins nicely so I'm not always hunting them down. It serves its purpose. It takes up less space than the bobbin caddy I have made by Clover (the one that you snap the wound bobbins into).

I'd like to counter the 2 reviewers that were surprised the box was coming without bobbins. Bobbin boxes don't normally come with bobbins so please don't give a product one star because you assumed they would! If you had looked at either the picture or description you could have figured out what you were buying.
