I purchased this machine to be used exclusively for free motion quilting. I did a lot of research, and yes, there were some really bad reviews, but way more good reviews. I've had really good luck with Brother machines, and this machine had more of the features I needed for the setup I was creating so I decided to go for it.

I'm pretty machine savvy and no, it did not work perfectly when I took it out of the box, it was doing a lot of looping on the underside. But once I adjusted the tension on the bobbin (which was WAY off), adjusted the presser foot pressure (the color guide adjustment window made it super easy) and the thread tension dial and got all 3 in sync, which just took a little time and patience, the stitches were perfect! I then dropped the feed dogs, there's a dial that also makes this function super easy, readjusted my presser foot pressure using the color guide window, again super easy, and started practicing free motion quilting and the result is all I'd hoped for.

Two of the features I really like on this machine is the location of the bobbin casing, which is on the side of the machine vs the top or the front. The machine is facing me when I free motion quilt, so the bobbin casing is facing me which makes it really easy to change bobbins when I need to. Also, when you do the type of sewing I do on this machine, it must be oiled frequently. You do not have to take the machine apart to oil it, there are small oil "holes" on the machine where you put in drops of oil as needed. For someone who is used to taking a machine apart to oil it, this is a little bit of heaven!!

I was having a small issue with the automatic thread cutter. It was cutting the threads so short that I was losing my bobbin thread and had to bring it back up after using the cutter. Not a big deal but annoying. Then I discovered that I didn't need to pull up the bobbin thread, I could start sewing again and the bobbin thread would come up and continue stitching just fine. I only need to pull it up if I want to bring it up to the top of the fabric before I begin stitching again.

One thing about Brother, they have good tech support, so be sure and register your machine with them to take full advantage of their services.

Recently I was using a Paasche Model H single action airbrush on a project. In the cleaning process I dropped the airbrush's set screw and even with the assistance of a magnet was unable to find the part. I was shocked that after years of there being a Paasche dealer here in town the local art supply place had quit selling parts, much less airbrushes.

I did order some replacement parts via Amazon but noticed afterward I opted for the free shipping and it moved a bit slower than I was wanting (the vendor had them on back-order I believe). I ordered another set this time from Paasche through Amazon and not surprisinglythey all arrived at the same time.

They aren't very expensive -buta missing one can grind working on a project to a halt.

I recommend to those of you like me that aren't in a large enough market for local supply/resupply to check out Amazon's many wonderful merchants.

I couldn't be happier. The film is thin, but the finished product is anything but flimsy. The laminating pouches firm up as they pass through the machine. They appear to have a transparent/satin finish before use, but become crystal clear from the thermal action. The thickness of the 3 mil. pouches is a better quality than the thin laminating material used with most school laminators. I would imagine the 5 mil. would be too thick, especially for card stock. I did use the 5 mil. heat setting with these, in order to seal up my card stock extra well. I wanted to make sure my thicker paper wasn't going to have any issues down the road, but I am quite pleased with the nice-looking, professional finish my items have. It's the perfect size for my classroom, and portable so I can take it home, too!

I ordered this foot to sew decorative twist cording around the edge or in the seam of a decorative silk pillow I'm making. I could easily sew the cording in with any foot. But I wanted to sew really tight up against the cord so none of the lip would show through the seam. I also wanted a nice top stitch along side of the cording like 1/16 inch away. No other foot could get me that close. This foot is amazing! It's adjustable so I can slide (left to right) the foot close to the cording with the needle either right on top of the foot or right next to it. It worked either way. I am using my Singer Futura for this project. It fits perfect. My machine has a low foot vs. some Singers that have a high foot or other brands with a slant foot. Make sure you hand tighten the knurled screw once you choose where you want the seam, so it is secure or it will not sit flat on the fabric. I also adjusted my needle (left to right) using my stitch width selector so I could fine tune where I got the seam exactly. It arrived super fast the next day (using 2 day Prime shipping). It was already assembled in the box, I just unscrewed my snap foot assembly and screwed this one on I saw another reviewer had some trouble with this. I searched You Tube when I was searching for a foot to solve my dilemma one video had many types of feet (this one included) that let me see it in action. Worked perfectly for me. A very good idea to purchase and have as part of my sewing tools.

I bought this art set as a gift and I was thrilled at the variety of mediums along with the affordable price. I should have known you get what you pay for. When I received this I was bummed because it looks so cheap. The items inside look like things you can get at the 99 cent store and the box they are in is flimsy and plastic. It is still a good variety but make sure you are not buying for someone remotely serious about art.

Making Memories Paper Trimmer, 12 Inch-by-12 Inch, Pink

I purchased the black making memories paper trimmer 4 years ago and it worked perfectly. Just recently the blade needed sharpening so I ordered new blades. In the mean time, I purchased the pink one. This is my favorite trimmer out of all of the trimmers I have used. The new one did have an annoying squeak when I first used it but there is a simple fix: simply rub wax paper on the metal bar the blade glides over and the squeaking disappears. The grid has printed templates that are easy to read. The magnetic ruler comes in handy for marking when trimming duplicate cuts. The company has great customer service. New blades can be purchased even though the blade itself is self-sharpening. After 4 years I would expect to purchase a new blade. I like that it folds up as I have a small craft space. I have a larger Friskars trimmer that I hide in the closet and I always end up grabbing the MM trimmer instead due to space. It is my favorite! Now I keep one in my craft bag for the nights I have art class and the other in my craft room. This is an excellent trimmer. Paper cuts are smooth and even every time.

I recently purchased and have been using this compressor. First impressions upon taking it out of the box was the quality of the materials and construction. Nothing in the box feels cheap or poorly made, even down to the small extras. I paid well over a hundred dollars less than the price listed here since I used a 40% off coupon through an app on my smart phone at a very large hobby store chain. Check the Lobby. If you shop on the web, the same 40% off is offered online.

In the box you'll receive a curly hose for cooling and delivering air to the regulator/moisture trap. A very nice, very flexible black braided air hose which seems to be about 8' long. You have a clamp style table mount which can accommodate two brushes and also serves as a convenient mounting place for your regulator. Not sure if it is mentioned in the description but a nice consideration by the manufacturer is that on the 'out' end of the regulator, there is a double tap fitting included that will allow you to have two airbrushes connected at the same time (the unit doesn't move enough air to power both simultaneously, however). Lastly, you'll receive several small adapters for the most common airbrush manufacturers so you will (likely) be able to connect the supplied hose directly to your airbrush of choice. I use a Badger AB and appreciated that I was able to be up and running out of the box without needing to purchase any additional fittings.

The regulator seems to be of good quality. My gauge seems to indicate that between 40-50 psi seems to be as high as it goes so I'm not sure how accurate the 60psi auto-off, 40psi auto-on feature is. I spray in the 10-30 psi range so I'm not concerned with this. Once you begin using your AB the compressor kicks on and, at the pressure I spray at, will toggle itself off and on every 5 seconds or so as the pressure builds and releases from the system. Air pressure appears to fluctuate 2-3 psi while spraying and the compressor is running, though I can't detect any discernible pulsing while this is happening.

The system seems to hold air well, though I do have a small leak. If I leave the unit on, the compressor will pump for ~1 sec about every 10 minutes or so. I do not yet have any teflon tape on the fittings, though. I am sure once I reassemble the system and use tape on all the fittings I won't see any leaks. I suspect that may also remedy the inability to actually reach 60 psi on the gauge.

Finally, how's the noise? It's pretty quiet as far as compressors go. My wife can't hear it in the bedroom with the door closed and the room where I work is nearby. The only thing that may annoy some people is the constant on-off. The compressor doesn't just run and stay running while you're spraying, instead it auto-on/offs constantly while your spraying. This isn't really a noise issue but it could be kind of distracting for some people. A constant running while you're spraying may be easier to tune out than have it toggling on and off the whole time. Then again, it's nice to know your compressor is running half the time it would be otherwise; a great feature that I hope will extend the life of this expensive unit. That said, I still plan on building a small, vented acoustic box for it, though it isn't necessary by any means.

All in all, I am very happy I bought it. The quality is such that I have no fear of its reliability, especially since the manufacturer is well known for making good products. Sparmax manufactures many of the compressors for companies like Iwata and Paasche. Those companies just re-brand them as their own.

If you can find it for the two hundred dollars I paid, then I say you should go for it; it's a good purchase for the money.

SINGER 2250 Tradition Basic 10-Stitch Sewing Machine

This is my first sewing machine, the first time I've used one. I love it, and hate to see it's rating so low due to reports of bobbin jamming. None of the 3 complaints mentioned that they even attempted to adjust the upper or lower tension adjustments. My machine jammed up the first time I used it but I read the instructions and adjusted the tensionsproblem solved. Adjusting the lower bobbin tension is a touchy feely operation, but not hard to do. From the instructions"To test the bobbin thread tension, remove the bobbin case and bobbin and hold it by suspending it by the thread. Jerk it once or twice. If the tension is correct, the thread will unwind by about an inch or two. If the tension is too tight, it does not unwind at all. If the tension is too loose, it will drop too much. To adjust, turn the small screw on the side of the bobbin case." There is a screwdriver included to make this adjustment. It clamps the thread, so a thicker or thinner thread could mean an adjustment is necessary. Mine needed to be loosened for the first spool of thread I used. This bobbin case is polished stainless steel, so it's not wearing out soon. I guess the screw might get loose someday, my local Jo-Ann fabric store sells new complete bobbin cases for $2.99. The upper thread tension dial requires a lot of adjustment depending on the work. A sewing machine isn't a hair dryer. They are complex weird monsters and there is a learning curve, no way around it. You've got to tune em like a guitar. This machine is heavy and stable and has a pleasant look and feel. It disturbs me there is no inclusion of oil or lubrication instructons. I doubt it's never necessary, so I got a tube of Official Singer Oil, a very thick oil with a look and smell like melted butter. I recomend it. I've only had my 2250 for a week. 5 stars so far.

I finally decided to try machine quilting, as I have hand-quilted for years, and the gals in my quilting group have all said I didn't know what I was missing by not trying machine quilting...so, I ordered this walking foot. I must say, while I will always be a hand quilter, this foot works great, and is very easy to use! The price was great; so all in all I am very happy with the purchase. This seller also provides awesome customer service, as I stated in my review on the 1/4 inch quilting foot they sell.

Relatively inexpensive considering all the machines it can attach to. I use a very old model Singer and it screws on just fine. The guide doesn't have measurements on it and is just held in place by friction, so a rough jostle can slip it out of position. I might use a sharpie marker to mark the guide for different parallel widths.

My mother gave me her BabyLock DenimPro machine when I took an interest in sewing, and all of these feet fit and work as they need to. It comes in a nicely organized case with a booklet about the feet types. I'm so glad I have that or I'd never know which feet were which. The best deal out of all is the Walking Foot. Once I figured out how to hook it up to my machine, I wanted to quilt everything I could get my hands on.

If you're looking for great quality presser feet for a great price, grab this set!

this is on a fabric piece.. used for quilting or sewing is better remember that all these 10x10" are as small as they seem why its standard 10 inches im not sure looks good would be cool if the size was larger sinc e they already tell you its 10 inch squared you get nothing to complain about it is neat to see that when you sew it you dont need to iron it as its already made to let you sew it on a item right away
