I'm a fan of most of the Vintaj product line and enjoy making customized jewelry from their extensive line of charms, filigree, and findings. Vintaj has several size and style options for ear wires for making earrings. I prefer these smaller French Ear Wires, though, because they allow the design of your earring to begin closer to your ear rather than dropping it lower. You can still end up with finished earrings that have a significant "drop" to them...but the beads, filigree, crystals, etc. all start up closer to where the wire leaves your pierced ear.
