I used this set to make a series of quality belts, which fit me perfectly, after purchasing the buckles and reusing some leather straps. The rivets are easy to set and the package includes small, medium (which worked for me) and large rivets in both silver and bronze. These are rapid rivets, so only one side (the cap side) is presentable. The anvil and setter they provided did their job. Employ the flat side of the anvil and the concave side of the setter against the rivet head. I used a regular hammer, a few solid wackes giving a good seat, instead of the wood mallet the instructions recommended. Moreover, beforehand, I experimented with the rivet sizes on some scraps I hole-punched to see which worked best. If you are doing belt alteration or repair, these rivets give a professional finish. I've had these in a few strengths and found all of them useful. I'm at that age when needle eyes disappear, and I repent for making fun of my mom when she struggled to thread needles (and had the grace to refrain from saying, "Just wait 'til it happens to you!"

I particularly like that they can be flipped up, rather than have to take them on and off. I also like that there small size lets me look over them if need be.

They come in a reusable plastic envelope and with a small protective case.

These things are proving to be difficult to find. Of course, I have a couple already, and they work great. The issue is with a merchant who lists them here.

Said merchant (appears to be the main merchant for them in the Amazon Marketplace) took my order, but sat on it for approx. 10 days w/o any indication they intended to fulfill the order. Both ship date and estimated delivery date came and went without any action by the merchant.

So, I cancelled the Amazon Marketplace order (they processed the cancellation promptly, much more responsive than the actual order), and ordered directly from another vendor. We will see if they arrive.

They have changed the sizes slightly making some holders and some blades not fit and work right. Their is no way to know this until you try it, if they cut right you have compatible parts.

unfortunately they have done this a few times and their are a lot of pieces that just don't fit, keep your invoice and make sure they except returns and exchanges if you get ones that do not fit.

what is really bad is they look like they do fit and you really have no way to tell unless you try to cut threw 3-4 thin pieces of paper, they wont work then. Especially so with the decorative blades.

pick a different brand, less work and aggravation

Manufacture is terrible for help also, took me months of correspondence till i found out my problem and they still didn't tell me or have a way to verify what pieces really are the correct ones, they never changed the model numbers. P.I.T.A.

This needle arrived much sooner than expected and I am very pleased with how well it works. As long as you take , literally only a few seconds after using to clean the needle, it should work well and last a long time. Made from stainless steel in the US too! Remember to cover the tip each time you lay it down so as to not bend the tip if it hits something.

This hole punch worked fairly well for a while (perhaps 1500 pages of punches), though I was never very successful when approaching 20 pages. Since then, one of the punch heads has needed to be pushed by hand toward the rest of the unit while the punch is being operated. And now I am unable to get one of the other heads to retract; hence, the punch is unusable until I replace that head or buy a better unit.

The handle is nice, however.

I have purchased Carl brand trimmers for years. I do a lot of scrapbooking and this is the only trimmer that has stood the test of time. I had to get a new one only because I carelessly left it on the floor when it fell and it ended up under the chair leg when I sat down. Bummer!

So, when I was searching for another one, I came across this listing that stated that this one had a "swing out ruler arm." My only complaint with my last one is that it didn't have one of these. Well, much to my dismay, the write-up given on this listing is for a different model of Carl trimmer. THE DC-100 DOES NOT HAVE A SWING-OUT RULER ARM. I still gave the item 4 stars because I do love this trimmer, and I did keep it. I'm just bummed that Carl hasn't made this trimmer with a swing-out ruler.

I hope others read this before buying, since you will not get what the item title and description states. (BTW...this company has the same write-up on their website for this trimmer.)

I ordered this foot to sew decorative twist cording around the edge or in the seam of a decorative silk pillow I'm making. I could easily sew the cording in with any foot. But I wanted to sew really tight up against the cord so none of the lip would show through the seam. I also wanted a nice top stitch along side of the cording like 1/16 inch away. No other foot could get me that close. This foot is amazing! It's adjustable so I can slide (left to right) the foot close to the cording with the needle either right on top of the foot or right next to it. It worked either way. I am using my Singer Futura for this project. It fits perfect. My machine has a low foot vs. some Singers that have a high foot or other brands with a slant foot. Make sure you hand tighten the knurled screw once you choose where you want the seam, so it is secure or it will not sit flat on the fabric. I also adjusted my needle (left to right) using my stitch width selector so I could fine tune where I got the seam exactly. It arrived super fast the next day (using 2 day Prime shipping). It was already assembled in the box, I just unscrewed my snap foot assembly and screwed this one on I saw another reviewer had some trouble with this. I searched You Tube when I was searching for a foot to solve my dilemma one video had many types of feet (this one included) that let me see it in action. Worked perfectly for me. A very good idea to purchase and have as part of my sewing tools.

Janome Memory Craft MC300E Embroidery-Only Machine By The Each

I originally got the Brother SE400. The Brother has a far superior feature set and the price is half of this machine. However, the quality of stitching was so poor, especially on smaller designs, that the Brother was returned and I purchased the Janome 300e. I haven't looked back.

Sure I miss the USB and some of the features, such as the auto cut, but I don't miss the broken needles, the birdnests or the unit eating my material. Simply put, the Janome works and works great. After 500k stitches, I have had no issues at all.

It would be nice if Janome came out with another consumer-based embroidery machine that has USB and autocut (under $1000, that is). Until then, you cannot go wrong with the 300e.

Pros

Great stitching, even down to .5" lettering

Quality built

No issues after 500k stitches

Cons

No USB (c'mon it has a PC Card? Are you kidding me?)

Price is sharply higher than the Brother

This foot fits my Singer Curvy without any problems, but I noticed that the markings on the foot don't match up exactly with the markings on my needle plate. I took the foot off and checked it with my seam gauge and a second ruler to be sure, I tried on the metric and the imperial side and it's not a perfect match for anything. It's not wildly off, but it's definitely noticeable, though the foot doesn't claim to be accurate, just "incrementally marked". So if you want this foot to measure your seam allowances, you may want to look elsewhere, but if you just want this to keep one line of stitching parallel to another this works just fine.

I have been sewing for 44 years. I thought I would finally buy myself a "nice, fancy" sewing machine. This machine is so sensitive that if one little, bitty piece of thread gets caught in the feed dogs, the whole timimg goes out and it will not sew no matter how many times you re-thread or clean the bobbin case. You have to take it to get the timing reset. I sewed on this thing 6 times and had to get the timing reset 3 times. Each time I call the Singer support line and got the same story about only using Singer needles and bobbins which I was doing. I have never been so disgusted with a machine in my life.
