The only issue when serging fishing line is that the thread/fabric tends to bunch up. It say to pull through from the back while guiding from the front and that's not easy on a serger. You can do but it doesn't help. When you're doing long pieces, you have to run about a yard of just line & thread and straighten the ruffle out. But it is a real time saver

3 Hoops for the Brother SE 350 SE350 Embroidery Machine
I just purchased this set of three hoops for my Brother SE-400.
This set of hoops works for the SE-350, the SE-400 and the SE-270D Brother embroidery/sewing machines.
To my surprise, all three hoops were grey and not black as illustrated in the picture (the picture does not do justice to the product, as the shapes of the hoops are not exactly as illustrated in the picture). The hoops not only matched exactly the color of my 4"x4" embroidery hoop that originally came with my Brother SE-400 sewing machine, but also matched it in quality. These hoops are well built and sturdy, and each one comes with a transparent grid template, similar to that of my original 4"x4" Brother hoop. The larger hoop is built and looks exactly like the Brother SA434 hoop.
To sum it all, I give this set of hoops a 5-star rating as it is a great buy, both quality wise and price wise.

I bought this puzzle as a gift. When it arrived it was cracked. I emailed the company ( as per the return instructions). They want a picture of the damage sent to them in order for them to accept the return. Huh? In my busy schedule I took the picture, downloaded it to my computer and now have realized the return date has expired. Lol

I can only sew with a basic ability. I needed a machine to save time on basic repairs and very simple projects that took too long to sew by hand. This machine was very easy to learn and use. I am not overwhelmed with options that I dont know how to use anyway. I have only run into a few problem (all caused by me) and I was able to figure out what I had done wrong easily. It is a great machine for learning or for someone who only needs to sews on occasion.

I enjoy using this foot when I need to see exactly where the needle penetrates the fabric--especially for sewing precisely on a marked line for foundation piecing. I use this and the 1/4 inch foot the most, even with general sewing.

This is my first electronic sewing machine. I only used the mechanical ones before.
Button holes are perfect look no hands. 8 different styles sized for your button.
Needle always ends at bottom of stroke. Press a button and needle comes to the top of the stroke.
The result being the top thread doesn't pull out of the needle when you start.
Machine won't let you sew if you forget to lower the foot.
Sews through 8 layers of medium weight denim.
More decorative stitches than I will need. But now I can add a fancy stitch to my pockets.
Nice thread cutters at left/back of body, at bobbin case and at bobbin winder.
Starts smoothly, you don't have to hand crank the wheel to get it started.
You can start and stop with a button control or the foot pedal. (If pedal is plugged in you have to use the foot pedal.)
You can set a maximum speed. When you "step on it" you get your preset speed.
I plan to use the button controls for buttonholes, winding bobbins and decorative stitches; the foot pedal for seams.
I've been playing with it for two days and really like it.
UPDATE 1/16/13: Automatic buttonhole foot wimped out on me today. I couldn't make a buttonhole in jeans. (With a traditional fly, so many layers and seams.) I didn't experience a problem when I used lighter fabrics. The machine handled everything but the buttonhole. I had to pull out my old mechanical machine which made a 4 step buttonhole no problem. Just not enough foot pressure to work.
UPDATE 1/17/13: Made the jeans again. This time I took extra care to trim seams and make sure I had a very flat area big enough to accommodate that huge automatic buttonhole foot. This time it worked as it should. Online research tells me this is an issue with all automatic buttonhole feet, they are big and can get hung up on bumps.

I ordered this panel to put on a quilt I'm making my grandson. I was expecting it to be cotton but its defintely polyester. I will still use it for the dirt bike quilt but will need to be careful not to put the iron on the panel. Also the black part of the panel looked brownish in places.

This machine is very lightweight, the stitches are smaller than normal. There is 1 speed, which makes it easier to sew. There is a drawer to hold things like bobbins and seam rippers. I love the drawer. The tension took a little while(hours) to adjust, but seems to be working well now. I changed the needle to a ball point to sew on knit and it sews beautifully.
