100 Assorted Pendulum Suspension Springs German Clock Repair
Posted by

on Friday, December 4, 2015
Most of the suspension springs were useless. Out of the 100 only 7 were usable. The only units that were not bend or bowed we're poorly constructed. I would not purchase or recommend this product to anyone. Absolute was of time and money.

The product was actually better quality than the original foot pedal that came with the sewing machine. Very pleased with the timely delivery and overall experience.

Snow Globe with Wood Base Makes a Fun Project
Posted by
Unknown
on Sunday, October 11, 2015
This comes with two snow globe kits. Each kit has a glass sphere, rubber seal, and a wooden base. You need to purchse separately some silicone sealer, like you'd use to seal the bathtub or a fishtank.
You can use the silicone to glue an item to the rubber seal. I was just putting some small seashells and beach sand from a recent trip in mine, so I didn't do this.
Add water to the globe. The instructions recommend some alcohol to prevent bacteria, and some glycerin to break surface tension. Then push the rubber seal in the globe, being careful to get out all the air bubbles.
I put some water into a bowl, and held the globe underwater while pushing on one side of the seal to let the last few air bubbles escape. I also found that more bubbles appeared overnight, probably air trapped in the shells or sand, so you might want to let things soak for a few days to make sure there are no bubbles inside your globe.
After the rubber seal has had time to completely dry, apply some silicone sealant, and let that dry. Then you can use silicone sealant to glue the whole thing in the wooden base.
My finished globe looks great, and is a nice reminder of my trip.

Wren B Airbrush Set
Posted by
Unknown
on Thursday, July 30, 2015
I have used a Binks Wren to paint scale plastic models for more than 30 years. The Binks Wren is a well constructed, external mix, single action airbrush. While my Binks Wren is past its prime after so many years, I used it this past weekend to do some touchup painting on my car. The brush is easy to clean and simple to operate, and is quite capable of painting very fine lines of about 1/16th to 1/8th on an inch in width, as well as painting broad swaths of paint an inch wide. My only concern is that when trying to replace the Fluid Control Assembly (needle and nozzle) for my Wren, I found the replacement part cost to be prohibitive $75+ for the one assembly. I found it was far cheaper to buy a brand new Paasche H airbrush kit from Amazon for less than the price of the Binks parts. While it works very well when in good shape, I can not give the Wren top ratings because of the excessive repair costs. (My new Paasche H showed up last night, and right away, I laid down a coat of paint with it on a scale model WW2 tank that I am building the Paasche works wonderfully!)

Denise in a della Q Interchangeable Knitting Needle Kit

So I have been knitting since I was about 10, I am now 25. I have used many different types of needles and these are great. You can change the length of your cord depending on what you are making. The best needles I have ever used are Addi Turbos but they are really expensive and only a few places sell them. But if you are looking for a good buy that will last a long time then these are great.
I got my original set when I was 18, so i have had mine for about 7 years and still in great shape, my Gramma has had her's for about 10 years the case on her original one has cracked but the needles are still great. I bought her one of these new sets for your birthday and she loves it. The fact that she can use her old and new stuff together has made her day.
You may think that $85 is a lot but if you look at what you are getting, it is a great deal and they Last.

I don't like this assortment at all. Most of the beads are large, round and square, and light purple. There is no flower-like beads. They are not suitable for jewelry. I usually like Jesse James beads but those are a non-no.

144 Bar 1 1/2 Inch 38mm Pin Backs Clasp Nickel Plated Broach

The photo on the product page shows that these are a clasp pin but they're not; they do not have a clasp to secure them so it is possible for them to come unclipped. This could be a safety hazard depending on how they're being used.
I won't be buying these again.

Hy-Ko Prod. ST-2 Number And Letter Stencils
Posted by

on Sunday, October 5, 2014
These are great lightweight letters. I used them to stencil in the name of our first dance song and wedding date on 16-inch pillows. They were the perfect size to write "The Luckiest" across the pillow. I overlapped them so that the edge of the cardboard rectangle butts up against the letter cut-out itself. This works well for all of the letters but the "I."
Cardboard letters are more delicate to use than plastic letters, but they also bend with fabric more, which makes a cleaner line to trace, I think. Plus, I didn't feel bad coloring over the edges with a permanent marker.

Janome Sewing Machine Presser Foot Storage Box
Posted by
Unknown
...there is no picture available for this item. Basically I bought it sight unseen, but had confidence it would be fine because of the Janome name.
It was perfect. There are several specific "cutouts" for putting specific feet. They're labeled A, E, F, etc. There is a small closed compartment and then a larger open compartment.
I (having waaaay too much time on my hands), went to my favorite "all things sewing" website and printed pictures of all the presser feet I have (it's a lot!). Then I taped the pictures with names (ie, "piping foot") to the lid of the box as a "map" (think BIG boxes of chocolates!) of which presser feet are where.
It's great! Glad I bought it and the price was right as well.
