We bought the Fixit Sculpt to repair a toilet and for sculpting changes to action figures. It worked great for both. The toilet, part of an upstairs bath remodeling project, had an uneven base. The Fix-it Sculpt was applied, allowed to dry, and then sanded smooth and installed. That was several weeks ago and there hasn't been any leaks. My son customizes action figures and the Fixit Sculpt allows him to make the figures more realistic. It's a great product and we received it much quicker than we thought we would. We will definitly purchase it again.

I just picked up this exact package from the local Joann store. I have a Brother LS2250 PRW sewing machine and my manual says the bobbins are Class 15. The Dritz brand bobbins are just 1 mm shorter than the bobbins that came with my machine but they are pretty loose in the bobbin case. The WORST part is that I can't even wind any thread onto the bobbin at the top of my machine! It doesn't even spin so maybe the center hole of the bobbin is a touch too big? I'm disappointed and will return the product. I'm going to try the Singer brand class 15 next to see if they are the correct size.

I'm in the coin business and buy a lot of scrap gold and silver. I thought this thing would stream-line my tried-and-true method of acid/scratch testing: It does not. I tried it multiple times to verify known standards (24k credit suise bar and 22k gold eagles) and it does not come back with the correct measurement consistently. Out of ten measurements and ten cleanings maybe it was close about 20% of the time. Most of the measurements came back low and that is unacceptable...unless your intention is to rip people off. Not accurate enough for me. I even measured some 14k samples and it came back 16k and 18k a few times...that's ok if you want to rip yourself off.

Most of the vendors that I saw selling this unit WILL NOT accept it back for a refund if it has been used at all: How are you supposed to know if it works if you don't use it? My original unit was purchased from a vendor that also sells on the most popular of all auction sites (I still payed about the same for it). And, my unit's power switch broke off the second I took it out of the box. I contacted the seller and he didn't want anything to do with the busted unit and that any defects have to be resolved with the manufacturer. The manufacturer is in my same state of CA and they didn't get to fixing my unit until I called and yelled at them a little...after all I only had about five days left of the ten days to return the item for "credit" or an exchange. What a joke. The seller by the way was iGem, and I purchased the high-end GXL-24. I know this is a review for the GT-4000, but they all have the same testing electronics with in them. All of them are junk.

Partially my fault that I didn't read the description close enough, but I had no idea this was a kit. Still not a big deal, but the pieces were really hard to glue to the glasses, and we ended up with a pair of pink sunglasses and random pieces. Never got it all the way together, but made a huge superglue mess. My daughter was very disappointed she didn't get the glasses already together, but again, my fault for not reading.

I used these to convert a pair of stud earrings that my mother left me. They worked very well for that purpose. I bought an inexpensive pair of round nose jewelry pliers at a craft store. Icarefully twisted the stud so that it fit through the loop on these, and got everything set to the right angle. Very nice final product.

This product is just what I was looking for. I was looking for double-stick tape to use on my lathe, and this is cheaper than the stuff sold specifically for turners. It holds quite well. Just don't get it wet.

I ordered this Red Carpet Studios Slouch Bag, Orange Patchwork Peace a couple of months ago. I needed a "go anywhere" bagRed Carpet Studios Hippie Slouch Bag, Orange Patchwork Peace so that I would not need to change purses so often. This is so roomy, and has all of the primary colors, making it easy to match up. It arrived in only a couple of days. It is brightly colored, but not "loud". The price cannot be beat.

I have no idea how it would feel to carry it, because I didn't have it long enough. I love showing off my new purchases, So needless to say, I lost it to an admiring relative. I was showing it off to my 25 year old step daughter, and the look on her face, all but said, "may I have it". She went on and on with the compliments until I asked her if she would like to have it. I barely finished the sentence before "poof", it was out of my hands. I think that she liked it.

So, I am buying another one, which I will fight the urge to show off. It's so practical, inexpensive, and suitable for any age i.e 73 (me) & 25 (step dtr). A fun purchase-not necessary-just fun. I would purchase again from this seller. Quality merchandise, at a reasonable price, and prompt delivery.

This dress form is so poorly engineered that the metal and plastic base of it, which stands on the floor, cannot be correctly assembled. The parts just don't fit together, as the sizes of parts that are supposed to join each other don't match-up. The size-adjusting mechanisms of the dress form 'body' are flimsy plastic and are not strong enough to withstand being adjusted many-multiple times. As the size of the dress form 'body' expands when it is being adjusted, the tension on the flimsy plastic adjustment mechanisms increases rapidly to a point where it cannot maintain the desired setting, and it spontaneously springs-back to a smaller size. It's impossible to keep it at the desired large size. The included instruction sheet is woefully inadequate in every way. My unit arrived without any adjustment tool a little knob that must be used in order to adjust the size of the dress form 'body.' I contacted the factory, and after too many e-mails, one was sent to me in the U.S. mail. Their e-mails were polite and their customer service is good. But it would have been so much better if the necessary tool had actually been included in the box! Since there was no packing slip, or list of parts included, of course I had to figure out for myself what was missing. Do yourself a favor and seek a better quality dress form than this one.

It's rare for someone to go against the scrapbooking grain so I'm hopeful you'll read this review with an open mind.

When my previous trimmer cut one too many crooked lines, I bit the bullet and started the search for a new one. After extensive research, I decided to go ahead and buy the Making Memories trimmer. I gasped at the price, but pulled out my discount coupon and sorta justified it. I haven't worked in 13 months, so this was a major decision for me!

Great trimmer, I thought, when I first pulled it out of the box. Looks gorgeous, sturdy ... which it must be considering its really heavy weight. (This is not a trimmer for those with comprised strength in their hands/wrists. Not only is it very heavy, the ruler they want you to use to hold paper in place -kind of stupid since it's only a sheet at a time -is SUPER strong, VERY difficult to pry off.) So I was a bit surprised to find it could only cut up to cardstock, and only one or two sheets at a time. But the other trimmers were like that, right? And this one's blade self-sharpens, so I'd never, ever need to worry about the blade.

So I put it to work, making Christmas surprise boxes for my year's cards. It was incredibly difficult at first to pull the blade back and forth ... but I figured it was breaking in or something, and eventually it did ease up. What did NOT ease up was the horrible squealing noise! It's what others have described, and it truly is ear-piercing, fingers-on-the-chalkboard bad. I saw some posts that talked about a couple of drops of sewing machine oil, but this is a paper cutter!!

OK. Holidays pass, it's busy, have a couple of birthdays and use the trimmer pretty sparsely till about a week and a half ago. Pulled it out and brought it to a class at a local scrapbook store. Used it, and it actually jaggedy-edge ripped my paper. I tried blowing out the bits of paper dust I could see inside the groove, but no improvement. So I called Making Memories the next business day.

The woman who answered was pleasant, but very, very rushed. She threw out a couple of answers to my questions but obviously was in a hurry to move on. Turns out, my blade was out of alignment and she'd e-mail me an instruction sheet to realign it. That horrible noise? It's the arm where the blade slides along ... just a couple of drops of oil, she said. I couldn't even get a "Thank you" out before the phone was hung up. The e-mail arrived seconds later.

Wow, I thought. Kinda scary that this is such a big problem they have an insta-e-mail response. So I followed the instructions and it turned out that yes, indeed, my blade was out of alignment. It's not suppose to be in the groove where all the paper dust has been trapped. It's suppose to be OUTSIDE the edge. (OK. WHY is there a groove there in the first place? It's not like something slides along there. Design flaw for sure.)

SO I moved it back into place and pulled the blade back and forth a few times to resharpen it, as instructed. WOW! Not only was the horrible squealing noise gone, the blade zipped along the track like butter ... just like all the reviews said!! Only ... my paper was not being evenly cut. Still. I tred a few more times, and no luck. Decided to call MM back.

Go to the Web site and request a replacement product, I was told. I did, and then was told I needed to furnish a receipt. Well, after I'd had the trimmer for a few weeks, I recycled the receipt and the box. With so many glowing reviews, why would I need to keep it? After much back and forth, I got absolutely nowhere. And guess what? They don't bother to sell the blade or blade compartment by itself. So now I have a piece of landfill-er.

I don't understand, 1. WHY isn't there a warranty card to return? 2. WHY are there NO instructions to indicate such a problem exists? Apparently if people try to cut inappropriate amounts of paper, it's going to throw the blade out of alignment. I never did this, and in fact am certain that my blade was out of alignment the entire time I had the trimmer. How would I have known? But it's a big enough problem they have a ready-to-send e-mail.

I went around and around and around, pointing out how much money has been invested in this company by the scrapping community, and every other sentence in response was, "I'm really so very sorry."

Well, I'm really so very sorry I ever bought this product, and I sincerely hope that after reading my story you will reconsider your purchase. This was a major thing for me, and now I feel like I was selfish in taking money from my family to buy something for myself. I was hopeful I could sell some crafts this summer to bring in a little bit of money, but I won't have a trimmer to help in this.

I bought both DVDs in this series and looked forward to learning some new molding techniques. The author covers some interesting molding techniques and since I am interested in small precision plastic parts, I found the little plastic car quite interesting, except for one thing: the author painstakingly repeats how to mix part A with part B several times during the DVD, as well as the vacuum degassing of silicone. We really only need to see this stuff once for goodness sake! And then more interesting aspects like how to decide where vent and pour holes should go is all but glossed over. There are better video guides on this subject and in fact I have found better ones on YouTube for free.

The wooden box and contents seem fair. Now that it is in hand, I do not believe it is worth the $107 paid. The exterior box is nice with the faux distress and metal leaf emblem on the lip. Hinges are very loose though, I would prefer the lid to have a bit of resistance when opening, but that's neither here nor there. My biggest complaint is that the internal dividers are card stock and are only in place due to the pressure of all the content items wedged in. When I opened the box for the first time, most all of the dividers, pen nibs, and ink bottles popped out. It was a pain to sort through it all, refolding the cardboard divides, and trying to wedge each single wall back into place using the product image here in Amazon to guess where each piece goes. I will end up building a proper wooden dividing grid to avoid this in the future, and to make things a bit more formal and authentic.

So everyone knows generally what's included in the box, I'll try to list it out---something the product description neglected.

Wooden box with metal Leaf emblem on lid.

5 colors of bottled ink.

Wooden pen 1

Wooden pen 2

Glass/plastic pen 3 with odd spiral design. Easy to look at, but awkward to hold.

3 nib designs, with 2 nibs per design (6 nibs total). I don't have the box with me as I write this, so it is possible that each pen had a nib already attached making a total of 9 nibs? I just honestly can't remember. Either way, you get at least 2 of each which should be fine. Just be aware you may end up bending them under the pressure needed to put them in and out of the pen heads.

Reference top right corner of product image: You have a wooden handle with a metal scoop/spoon for melting wax. My metal head was barely attached to the hand in the the threading was not cut deep enough into the handle for a proper fit. The tension of the threading keeps it together, but I must be very careful as a decent bump may knock the spoon head loose. I would be annoyed if I spilled hot wax due to this, so be careful.

Just under that is a card stock lid to open revealing reddish wax flakes to be melted for your letter seals.

Reference lower right of product image: 3 wax seal stampers. 1. fish icon; 2. heart icon; and 3. a generic leaf-life shape. If I can figure out how to post pics, I'll add later. on the far left of that row is a metal burner. You unscrew the top cap revealing a rope-type wick as you would find in oil lamps. You can unscrew the base to add oil for burning. So, light it, scoop the wax flakes into the metal spoon top right, hold over to melt, pour over closed envelope, stamp, and seal.

There is also a wax stick in the middle. It looks nice as it is, so I'll probably stick to red waxes and keep broken under the lid as described earlier.

For decoration it's fine. For function, you may end up tweaking things a bit. I would be happy to pay $50 for this maybe, but feel disappointed at the current price knowing pieces are loosely put together and there is no sturdy dividing structure to compliment the design. Some pen nibs were also bent out of shape. Not a problem as they work (and replaceable at a local Michael's or Hobby Lobby), just frustrating.

I hope this review helps? It's overall not bad, just over-priced for the quality. 3 stars because it works. Lower price or slightly better quality of material would easily give it 4 or 5 IMHO. Shipping and packing material was very good. Box was secure for shipment.

All the best,

Noel.

This is a very fun cartridege! There are so many variations of what you can do with it. I haven't even touched the tip of the iceberg with this one! Using chipboard to make the dolls and then cutting out the clothes and accessories with the Cricut for little girls is so much fun! Use the lighter weight paper for the clothes, not heavy cardstock! If you've priced paper dolls in the stores, they are quite pricey, so using this cartridge and your own colors to do the hair, etc. on the doll and the colors and patterns of paper you can use for the clothes and accessories is quite cost effective making them with the Cricut. I did these for a great niece and she loves them! I decorated a box with the copy of the doll on the lid and other fun things for her to keep her new paper doll and clothes, etc. in the box. I would give Cricut 10 stars if I could.

It holds all my empty and prewound bobbins nicely so I'm not always hunting them down. It serves its purpose. It takes up less space than the bobbin caddy I have made by Clover (the one that you snap the wound bobbins into).

I'd like to counter the 2 reviewers that were surprised the box was coming without bobbins. Bobbin boxes don't normally come with bobbins so please don't give a product one star because you assumed they would! If you had looked at either the picture or description you could have figured out what you were buying.
